Let's spread some musical misinformation

It has recently been discovered that the translation of the term Gregorian Chants was misinterpreted. It really means "songs that make you gag."

Gregorian Chants started when a monk named Gregor Viancelli spent all his time wandering around the monastery humming out loud.. The other monks thought it was cool and began doing it too.

As they progressed they formed a group and often strayed into new musical territory especially after a few cupfulls of wine. They wrote the first rap song and also the first Doowop song.

They were also into "throat singing" which is why so many people gag when performing a Gregorian piece because "throat singing" is difficult at first.

Lady Gaga named herself after the Gregorians in their honor as did Thelonius Monk. He was going to call himself The Loneliest Monk at first but thought it was too schmaltzy.

John Lennon thought that if everyone performed Gregorian Chants daily it would make them a better person and world peace would be possible.

So he wrote " Give Peace A Chant". But the record producers thought that it wouldn't go over because teenagers at that time really weren't into Gregorian philosophy.

The more you practise bass the worse you become. 86% of bass players will buy a bass and after two years give up and sell it because all they can play is scales and can't remember why they took it up in the first place.

As hours of practise go by the brain develops a protein that coats neuroreceptors making the process of thought extremely difficult.
You can walk by a bass player on the street and say "Hi" but most times all you will get is a strange blank stare in response.

After 4 years of practising for 4 hours a day the average bass player has the mentality of a three year old child.

Sometimes switching them over to guitar helps as well as severely limiting their playing time to 20 minutes every other day.....but they're never the same as when they started out.

I have noticed it takes little to send your mind in some unusual and interesting directions. Well done.

There were no left handed basses until Quigley Wilenfeld, Tal's grandfather, immigrated from Australia. He was surprised to find his bass was upside down and he couldn't play it that way. He traded it in at a pawn shop in Las Vegas for a northern hemisphere bass.
Lefty Bearclaw from Cicely, Alaska, happened to be vacationing in Las Vegas and ran across Quigley's bass. He was very excited because he had always wanted to play bass, but there was no instrument available for him. Other left handed bass players would see Lefty in concert and the demand for left handed basses began.

It is legal to stop traffic for hours to take band pictures in a crosswalk
The band Traffic was formed while waiting in the carpool lane during this photo shoot. They were originally going to name the band "C'mon, you ignorant, selfish jerks, get out of the way!" but realized that wouldn't work onstage for a band intro. By the time they could agree on a working title (about 3 hours later), it was "$%#@&% Traffic!!!", but in the '60's profanity hadn't really caught on as a gimmick and they realized they'd would probably end up in prison for using it.
