Quite true. Many letters have recently been discovered, where Jacques sought advice from close friends as to whether he should quit his daytime job as plumber/inventor and become a fulltime bass player.

One of the interesting techniques on bass is to bring it from a walk to a full gallop.

Some will start by playing a walk and then break into a canter or trot....then proceed to gallop....

Do not stop dead from a full gallop...slowly return to a walk.....

If you stop dead , sometimes you will go head-over-bass and fall on the floor...

Playing a jumping bass line is much harder than a walking bass line. I've seen inexperienced bass players fall off the stage.

I was checking out ebay and came across one of Jacques's shortlived bass pedals, the Royal Flush. It gives a convincing phaseshifting/flanging/flushing sound. The bidding was over $800.
