Let's spread some musical misinformation

John Entwistle's Great Great Great Great Grandfather, Jimbo, carved the magic whistle known as the Entwhistle, that was used successfully to call all the ents of the Old Forest to battle, to lay waste to Isengard. This was a pivotal moment in the history of Middle Earth, now all but forgotten.

In early '71, John inexplicably dropped the silent letter from his name, claiming that the H was altogether unnecessary and was slowing him down, quite considerably. In recent years, medical science has proved him correct.

The vocals for the Beatles song Honey Pie were recorded by plugging the output jack of John's Fender guitar amp into the input of the mixing board. Then they all sang very loud into the speaker of the amp. There was just enough signal to capture the performance that made it to the version we hear on the album. The unique sound has never been recreated by a major recording artist.

The Monkees later tried the same technique on several songs but scrapped the idea after unsuccessful attempts to replicate the sound adequately.

Sir Paul has maintained that this is a perfect example that the quality of the vocalist is 99% of the sound and the other 1% has nothing to do with the equipment used to record it.

Kansas once recorded an album using only Kazoos, Wax paper & combs, rubber bands & tin cans as the instruments.
The masters are stored in Don Kirshner's secret vault that nobody has been able to locate.

Justin Bieber thinks Nickleback sucks, Nickleback thinks Bieber sucks and Canadians think both of them suck.
The United States, on the other hand, loves both groups and have considered trading Bruce Springstien for them.

The original lyrics to the Beatles hit "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" were written by Sir Paul who never indulged in illegal drugs. Unfortunately, Paul was dictating the lyrics to John who was perpetually high on acid. This is how Paul intended the song to be sung...

Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With Hazel nut trees and dark blue skies
Somebody calls you, you answer abruptly
A girl with beautiful eyes.

Daffodil flowers of yellow and green
Rubbing against your knees
Look for the girl with the sun glasses on
And she's gone

Lucy likes lots of diamonds
Lucy likes lots of diamonds
Lucy likes lots of diamonds, ah

...well you get the idea. John's acid trip had a huge impact on how the song came out. The rest is history.

Yoko tried to write a version of that as well:-

"Picture yourself in a boat with loose rivets
With rotten old oars and a bag full of pies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite rudely
A girl with a car full of guys

Daffodil flowers of yellow yet green
Wedged in between your knees
Look for the girl with the big rubber nose
But she's gone

Lucci is this guy with diamonds
Lucci is this guy with diamonds
Lucci is this guy with diamonds....."
