Let's spread some musical misinformation

My bass playing girlfriend was getting pretty tired of her amp situation - she initially contemplated getting her tubes tied but decided to get a silicone injection instead. She claims her bass playing is in a pretty solid state right now and that the injection cured the sag she was experiencing in her prior set up. The change is really quite noticible. She's now much more forward in the mix and really stands out especially with a hard banging drummer.
Does she know if the drummer is wearing protection? A hard banging drummer can easily damage your hearing.

Careful, musical misinformation, not physics misinformation. Movement of electrons is electricity, and because electrons have mass, they do not travel at the speed of light.

Having said that, users of lightwave pickups must play ahead of the beat in order to be in sync with the band due to the timing difference between light and electricity.

Likewise, users of Lace pickups have to clean them with water and baking soda by hand, to preserve their delicate structure.

Yes our drummer is an animal, everybody in the band insists he wear protection while he's banging away although being a drummer he prefers the rhythm method.

Her next project will probably be enhancement of the bottom end?
She did that a few years ago but she may have gone overboard a bit, now every time we get on stage she asks me, "does this bass make my amp look big?"

Maybe it's only in her head. She might consider having her head upgraded.

Actually I think her head's good. The other members in the band she's given it to had nothing but smiles so I'm guessing they liked it as well. She did take the amp to a tech a while back but she wasn't happy with his work. Apparently he messed with her knobs without asking first and it resulted in her blowing a speaker on stage right in front of everybody. The audience won't forget that show anytime soon.

As a result this speaker was thrown out of the cab and got sacked the same night.

If you use Guitarbucker pickups on your bass you will never have a problem with guitarists again ever.

You can also use Drumbucker pickups for problems with drummers.

It is best to have a Guitarbucker in the neck position and a Drumbucker in the bridge position with a blend pot.

If you want to go topdrawer, add a Vocalbucker pickup as well.

Buy a Bandbucker and go solo...

Breaking news! D'addario announced flat/roundwounds. One side is flat over 180 degrees, the surface of the remaining 180 degrees is round. By simply rotating the strings by 180 degrees, the other side shows up. According to D'addario, the effect is best heard if the flat side is played fingerstyle and the round side is played with a pick.

These will not be as good as the Ernie Ball half rounds which are flat over the neck and round over the pickups.

Way back in time Leo Quan was luthier for Steve Harris. One day he screwed up the body of Steve's P-Bass beyond repair. Bridge screws were broken and the body was severely scratched, close to the L-plate bridge. He knew Steve would instantly notice a body swap. So he came with a cunning plan. He engineered a larger bridge to cover the damage. Because he felt like a badass, he named the bridge Badass and told Steve he would be the first to play a P-Bass with a high mass Badass bridge.
