Let's spread some musical misinformation

"Big deal" Peavy's, lawyer says, "It's not about light sources, it's all about the use of lenses, so Fender hasn't seen the light yet".

I have no horse in the race; let the lawyers sort it out. But it is well known that lawyers produce the best music, with all the creative personalities, outside the box thinking, and unstructured work environments.

Quarter notes got their name during the era of the Motown/Stax "house" bands. The bands were paid $1.00 per measure, thus, 4 notes in a measure was worth $0.25 or a quarter.

Frugal record executives kept the songs short - under three minutes - to reduce the cost of the house band. Bands tried to push back by trying to play faster to squeeze in more measures per song, but with only limited success.

Breaking news - the much loved all female Moranbong band of North Korea has introduced a special keyboard called the "Jupiter 80" for their synth player that now programs target coordinates and launch sequences for their nuclear arsenal. Here it is in action...

The United States is said to be working on a counter offensive weapon in cooperation with Weird Al Yankovitch while Japan perfects its weaponized Hello Kitty instruments and German forces deploy their Um Pa Pa Stealth fighters. Mexico remaines neutral on the topic but is said to posses a formidable Mariachi contingent capable of annoying any country at will.

The electric bass became popular for bands quite early on in the fifties.

The trouble with the upright is that it was just too clumsy and unwieldy. Bassists were forever tripping and falling over due to it's idiotic design..sometimes injuring others in the process..

Ennio Morricone wrote the scores for all the movies he's done as surf tunes, but John Williams adapted them to sound more appropriate to the films they went with--when some of them became iconic it caused a rift between the two & they haven't spoken for 52 years
