Hence the word "Revival" inthe band's name.
All their songs were originally performed by Clarence "Creedence" Clearwater, a Missisippi Blues
Guitarist and part time Pinkerton detective.
John Fogerty is believed to have the only existing authentic recording of Clarence playing and singing, supposedly recorded by John Handy himself.
So enamored of this music was Fogerty, that he decided that he would play them to a new audience under the name of The Creedence Clearwater Revival Blues Band and Travelling Mississippi All Star Circus, but bar owners thought that too long, so he shortened it.
The rest,as they say, is history. Or is it?
