For a real heavy metal sound you need to use depleted uranium strings.
Ah yes!
But why use the old depleted strings when you could go all in with fresh fully radioactive uranium strings.

Although the glowing of enriched uranium adds brightness, depleted uranium is heavier than the radioactive isotope. So, as a musician, you need to decide what is more important; the heavy sound or the brightness of the strings.
U238, is still radioactive, U235, is what been removed from the U to depleted.
U strings best to my knowledge, won't work something about needing ferromagnetic properties, And then, it is my understanding, U strings, would play like strings made of solder, not much ring.
But you convert the pick-ups to gieger-muller counters, maybe you have a chance until the string breaks from fatique.

Too much tension on the string-winders.
I found the replacement bridge for that one to be really solid and have less narrow spacing, so you can really drive hard on it...
