Let's spread some musical misinformation

As skyscrapers, condos and hotels get taller, one of the popular jobs now is Elevator Music DeeJay.

People want a knowledgeable person at the console while they are going to floors instead of listening to generic background elevator music.

Elevator Music DeeJays report that the two most requested songs are :-

(a) Ascending:- "Up Up And Away" (The 5th. Dimension)

(b) Descending:- "Fire" (The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown).

"Moving on Up" by M People is also a popular choice.

Unfortunately, this means you can't play the blues, or any other genre, with these basses. While everyone around you is playing soulful slow jazz, you MUST hammer out 16-notes on the root. The exception is the rock ballad, which *might* let you slow down a little.
One of my basses allows me to play blues rock, as it has a blueburst body.

If you have a Byrd's-Eye maple neck, you'll only be able to play the Byrds.

Actually, depending on the amount of Byrds-eyes, you may be able to sneak in some songs from The Jet Set, the Beefeaters, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Manassas, Firefall, McGuinn, Clark & Hillman, the Desert Rose Band, Souther–Hillman–Furay Band as well as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young of course. So an all Byrds-eye maple neck isn't as bad as it sounds. Beware of other complications, though.

As you play, you may also find You Ain't Going Nowhere, but nonetheless be in a compulsive involuntary movement — All [You'll] Want To Do is Tern, Tern, Tern. This is due to the type of Byrds-eyes used to make the maple neck. Don't fight it and You'll Feel A Whole Lot Better.

Bruno Mars full name is Brunaldo Aliso Marisco.

Mariscos in Spanish means seafood.

Because Brunaldo was a small yet strong kid growing up, he earned the nick name "Shrimp Ali" because he was a good fighter.

As he grew a bit he was known as "Shrimp Elvis" because he could imitate "The King" and performed in his father's night club show.

Soon he was known just as "Shrimp", which he hated because he had such a big voice. He could also impersonate many different singers and performers.

One day his father was mad at him for coming home late and missing dinner. He was calling Brunaldo "Shrimp" this and "Shrimp" that. Brunaldo got so mad he vowed no one would ever call him "Shrimp" again.

Brunaldo took the kitchen telephone(the only one in the house) and hid in the broom closet. He called the local seafood market where his dad had credit. He did his best to impersonate his dad and ordered 25 lbs. of king crab delivered to his house.

When the order arrived he marched to his dad and said "I'm not the 'Shrimp' any more. You call me 'The King' or I'm outta here".

The father laughed and planned a crabecue for the next day to celebrate the recognition of "The King".

To this day no one calls Brunaldo "Shrimp".

As he grew he started to gain some popularity as a singer songwriter. Brunaldo Marisco as a brand just wasn't going over well.

One day he was reading about space exploration when it came to him that Mars was part of his name and it was recognized through out the universe.

He shortened his first name to Bruno and added Mars. Thus, Bruno Mars was born. The rest is history.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

This isn't misinformation!

The paranormal group 'Ghost Note Hunters' did a lockdown at GC. They captured several ghost notes on an EVP when one of them faked the "Billie Jean" bassline on a Squier VM.
Its also a little known fact that by chance, that very same night, Bernard Purdie was there checking out a few drum kits and accidentally got locked inside the drum room. The following footage was found on VHS tape, on a shelf, in a dusty old box, in a back room that Guitar Centre used to use for accounting. It tells the real story of what transpired that night..........:nailbiting:
