Let's spread some musical misinformation

Inclusive bands should have at least one person playing each possible instrument. In Western music they are called 'orchestras' and even admit viola players, although often they are not allowed to have strings on their instruments, but few viola players have noticed.
Hey, viola players have value. They give the bassoon players someone to make fun of.

Duran Duran was named for Durand Durand, who created a weapon that could destroy humanity. Barbarella, a space-traveler and representative of the United Earth government was sent to find him.

And that’s NOT misinformation!
Right, and the reason she ran around naked most of the time was that Delta Spacelines lost her luggage. It got routed to Tralfamador. They sent Billy Pilgrim to bring it back, but he was never in the right place at the right time.

The Floyd Rose tremolo system was developed by accident by an engineer at Westmark who was working on developing new egg slicers.

I was told it was a collaboration between Pink Floyd and Gypsy Rose Lee, with the trem arm helping in removing her brassiere during performances. The fact that it was useful on guitars was purely accidental.

The band Pink Floyd was originally The Pink Floyd Sound, named after Floyd in honour of the sounds that Barret could get using a trem arm. Since Barret played a Telecaster, he actually used it as a prototype form of Levin's funk fingers.

Another use for viola players include as scarecrows. Here it is actually valid for them to have their viola with them, as it deters birds. It can attract randy tom cats, but that also deters birds, so is a bonus. The sound of small explosions which are referred to as 'bird scarers' is actually the sound of a famer putting an old viola player down.

If you are putting together an orchestra, and want to save on conductor's fees, you can use one of these: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. You will find the viola players trying to hold a conversation with it, though.

Paint it to make it look like Leonard Bernstein and the viola players will try to have sex with it (and if they're fast and agile enough they might succeed).

And that's why I didn't post that information in the thread about misinformation!

Allz I did was pick up on the little repeated pattern word wordplay from the get-go, then tried to find a group/act with the repeated word.
I like Duran Duran, which is why that was one of the first acts that came to mind:

Explain the legal precedent behind The The...
...tom toms ...tomatoes tomatoes.
...Tomato Tomato...Talk Talk....
Duran Duran named themselves after the famous boxer.
In fact, their final album was going to be called either No Mas, or Paper Champions, but a vote was taken among the members and agents and it ended up a split-decision, so neither title was chosen.

True, though double-D's last album was actually titled Paper Gods, I considered Roberto Duran (of repeated name-fame) a Paper Champion (Mr. T to Rocky [Rocky III]) in Leonard vs Duran('s) "No Mas" fight/our last album.

I assure you, no members of the actual Duran Duran were harmed during or preceding the making of this myth!

There is a little-known secret in the music industry — there is a moniker magi who is actually responsible for coining the names of every famous band that ever rose to prominence.

Band managers meet this secret sorcerer of magnificent monikers in person and provide info about the band, the band-members, the style of music etc, and the magi listens intently without uttering a word. Once the meeting is over, the magi gives the band its name on a cocktail napkin. Occasionally, when the napkins have run out, he has been forced to utter the name of the band aloud. Alas, the magi has a stutter...

There you have the real reason for bands such as Talk Talk, The The, Duran Duran, Yoyo (Ma), Tom Tom Club, Tin Tin Duffy, Django Django, Ting Tings, Mr Mister, Wet Wet Wet, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Now Now, Here Here, Mother Mother, Controller Controller, Frou Frou...

He also wrote songs for the Who.
