Line 6 HX Effects

The HX Effects is very powerful in a way I didn't expect.
Ex. 1: Suppose you have an "always on" OD pedal that you want to replace with a fuzz pedal for a section in the song, instead of switching the OD off and then the fuzz on (and vice-versa), simply assign both pedals to the same switch, with the OD on and Fuzz off, and save to a preset. Then in pedal mode, simply press the switch to go from one another and back.

Ex. 2: Suppose you have an always on pedal that you want to switch the gain from 9 o'clock (light overdrive) to 3 o'clock (full overdrive), then assign the gain to a switch (in the Controller Assign section or pressing the parameter for a few seconds), with a min value and a max value. Switch off is min value, switch on is max value.

Ex. 3: Suppose you want to use the same expression pedal for volume and for wah in the same preset. Simply assign the volume and the wah to the same switch (volume on, wah off) and the same expression input. I now can control the volume with the pedal, it the switch and now control the wah, it the switch again to go back to control the volume.

Ex. 4: Simply touch the switch with your finger for a few seconds and you now have all the parameters appears, not limited anymore to the first three and using the <- and -> keys to see the others.

Ex. 5: Always on blocks don't need to be assigned to a switch, like a parametric eq.

Not the way you've drawn it, but you can place a send block before the output and it will work the same way.

However, if you want different effects before the Send and the main Out, you'll be in trouble.

If you can give us a little more details about what you want to achieve and what blocks you want to send to what outputs, we can offer more help.

I guess i am asking too much for a stomp. I want to put a distortion pedal in paralell routing and "send" output to feed an amp before the ir block..l/r output to PA.

That's absolutely possible.

After your split path, place a send block and use that to feed your amp. After the send block, place your IR block, and use the main outputs to feed FoH. No issues at all.

Thanks. The only "issue" would be that the distortion block on parallel routing is merging before ir block right? Theres no way to get a fully paralell routing AND going on both outputs? I mean feed send output with parallel and amp/compression blocks without IR and L/R out going with everything in the patch.

You lost me. Do you not want the distortion in your IR block, is that what you're saying?

You might have a requirement that I've missed, but here's what I was suggesting:

There's also the option of going 100% parallel on the outputs:

But the key is you can only ever have one split path per preset.

With some creative routing there's a lot that can be done though. Like for example using the new dual IR blocks, you can sort of do what you wanted too.

Here I've split off the distortion on a parallel path, and then using the dual IR block I've panned each IR hard left and right, and left one of them empty. This means that only the left output of this preset will have an IR applied to it, leaving you to send the right output to your amp.

Note: This will only work with IR and cab blocks, not amps or most other effects. There are some delays that also lets you control feedback and time for each side, so in principle you could add delay to just one channel, but that's about it.

Can anyone recommend a bass (obviously) gig bag that has a pocket that fits the HX Effects, plus room for cables and power wart? Bonus points if it can fit a normal sized pedal or two also.

HX Effects (plus wall wart, cables, and a pedal or two) fits the Mono Vertigo single and Reunion Blues RBX Dual gig bag pocket with room to spare. The Reunion Blues Continental Voyager single fits, but has less room than the other two, as the pocket is shallower.

For the RB, this one? RBX Double Bass Guitar Gig Bag

My Sweetwater rep said this one will work too: Gator G-PG BASS Pro-Go Series Gig Bag for Bass Guitar Does anyone have experience with that one to confirm, or have thoughts about it in general?
