Line 6 HX One

So this is bad.

HX One stopped sending an effected output in Insert Mode while I was using it. I run in mono with a distortion pedal in the loop, then use an appropriate effect either pre or post distortion. It will send a bypassed signal, but no effect. It does send an effected signal if I change to stereo. I'm running in buffered bypass and don't use stereo effects.

I put in a support ticket, so we'll see what happens.

So, I ended up getting another HX One. Been toying with the idea. I know, could have got a Stomp, but they are hard for me to work with. Wanted one HX One just for a preamp. And I had a gift card from Christmas and a coupon for a retailer which made it easy. Had I sold my HX One and then just got a Stomp it still would have cost more.
Going to set up a few versions of the Regal, BDDI, and Onsidian to use and then use the other HX One for drives and effects.

Tuner: You have to have the bypass mode for the HX One set to DSP in order for the tuner to function. Set to True Bypass, the tuner is not available. I tested the tuner against my Peterson strobe and the HX flickered me in-tune at 2 cents flat/sharp. That may be good enough, even though I would prefer to set the HX to True Bypass, but it will eliminate a pedal.

I don’t think this is correct. I can access the tuner in true bypass or DSP.

I had tuner inoperability and saw this release note, as well. Maybe it is situational?

Ha! We must be their target audience. I'm also considering purchasing a second One.

I end my chain in some stereo effect or a compressor now.
However, I like how, in Insert mode, I can virtually re-order inserted pedal(s) pre or post.
So...

That Regal is what did it. I’m using it for a lot of songs and then don’t get to add something else I may want with it. Got a deal so it made sense. And I actually found some BDDI tones I like.

Can you run parallel paths like you can with the HX Stomp? I wouldn't need to be able to turn on ans off certain effects, but if I could run parallel paths (say a dark glass clone on one side and am SVT sound on the other), I could always program two of these tone banks, one with an effect and one without

Presumably anyway. Can this be done? Could I get those wicked metal bass tones people get from the HX stomp?

"HX One" - One effect at a time, that's it. It doesn't even use the HX Edit software, just a Librarian software to manage the individual effects

The HX One packs a lot of nice HX Effects and tech into a $300 package that fits nicely on a board and has simpler 9v power needs. The $600 Stomp would be the machine that fits your needs better. For my needs, to provide the occasional echo effect, shimmer reverb, chorus, flanger, tape saturation, whatever, it's a great solution and value. Combine it with a couple dedicated pedals and good to go on a small board.

Yea i guess that's pretty useful. Rather than buying a bunch of pedals.
