I thought only the G30 used a 1/4" to 1/4" cable.

We've used Sanyo Eneloop AA's in digital cameras after finding that they lasted and hold a charge MUCH BETTER than any so far. They even come pre-charged.
Ordered the charger-multipack AA's +AAA's(fit my headlight LED),

put a pair in Monday(straight out of the package), practiced at home for about 2 hours on it, had a 3-1/4 hour gig Tuesday night.
The G50 power meter went from 3 green LED's(full) to 2 green LED's(almost full) during the second-to-last song and stayed that way until the end.
These work.
No more buying Duracells, done.
They also work in the Zoom H4N(it actually has a NiMH battery selection in its setup menu).

an update, since this thread's been bumped:
i discovered that the NiZns cannot be left sitting in the charger unplugged between gigs. over time it destroys the batteries, so that they read "green" on the charger but die instantly under load.
i have the battery charger and the G50 receiver mounted on a pedaltrain nano that sits on top of my amp at gigs and stays in the van between shows; from now on i'm taking the batteries out of the charger between gigs.
as for the G50, it works nicely except for the connector on the beltpack; the little ta4f has an annoying habit of falling out of the unit with any kind of gentle tug
i can bend the little metal tabs up and get a better grip on the transmitter jack, but it is not a positive lock like it should be.
I have a g90 and have problems with cutting out. I have used a couple of different cables with the same result. I am using rechargeable batteries, I can only hope its something that simple...
I've been using my G30 constantly since I got it months(?) ago. No problems with the 1/4" cables. Using Energizer NiMH AA 2450 mAh batteries. They last somewhere around 6 - 8 hours between charges.
I don't leave my batteries in the charger, though. I have a supply of them. When the set in the transmitter dies, I put them in the charger and plug it in in my kitchen. Next day, I take 'em out and put them back in the battery pool. I would always put in a fresh set before going anywhere to play out, and I always keep some new Alkalines handy, when I'm going "out", just in case.

I'm getting bombed down to hear that the g50 has cable problems. That the TA4F doesnt have a good connection with the transmitter. I just order one and I might have to return it 
Can anyone help me customize a cable from Redco Audio for my g50. I dont know if I should use balanced mic or unbalanced instrument cable (mogami or canare). I want 2.5 feet of cable, I know I need mini xlr 4 pin female, and ts 1/4 right angle connector. Please help, just need to know what kind of cable. 
And do I need TS or TRS 1/4 inch connector? Would this cable be better than the Shure WA304 cable? I heard bad things about that cable 
For people looking for a replacement TA4F cable, get a Shure WA304 (http://www.amazon.com/Shure-WA304-WA-304-Instrument-Cable/dp/B0002E1UTY). Better made and comes with a right-angle jack to reduce stress. They also make the WA302 which is a straight jack, if you prefer that over right-angle.

Got my relay g50 today!! It feels way more sturdier than my friend's relay g30. The battery door feels secure and the metal casing its a great improvement. I ended up ordering a mogami 2524 cable with TA4F, and right angle connector from lavacables.com, can't wait to try this wireless later on. 
I used my relay g50 last night at practice and this thing rocks!! Now I just need to buy some rechargable batteries and wait for my custom cable. What are some recommended rechargable batteries, the ones that can give 1.5 volts minimum? Thanks
I have been using Energizer NiMH 2450 mAh AAs in my G30 and they work great. They last an easy 6 - 8 hours. I bought a whole new kit of them yesterday at Sam's Club. They current kit has 2300 mAh batteries, but they should still be fine. $29 for 8 AAs, 4 AAAs, and a charger.
I will take a look at the energizer batteries. Has anybody heard or used the Eneloop Rechargeable Batteries by Sanyo? They look pretty good but dont know if they would work good with the relay g50.
