Lou Reed?

I took a Tai Chi class once in the East Village and he was there, a longtime pupil of Ren Guangshi. Afterwards he talked guitar pedals with someone, was a real gearhead. Here he is doing Tai Chi with Metallica.

I have a lot of his early albums, lot of great individual songs hidden in so-so albums. NEW YORK was his masterpiece. I fell away from listening around 1990 when his album with John Cale about Andy Warhol (Songs For Drella) came out, and the last single of his I remember liking was 'Sword of Damocles'

He always had - hot bands, and great bass players. My favorite bands of his were the Rock 'n' Roll Animal live band and then the Blue Mask band with Robert Quine. The New York-era band with Rob Wasserman was pretty great too.

I saw him live with Wasserman was Great but my favorite Reed bassist was Fernando Saunders

I have everything he has recorded even Metal Machine Music

Me and a friend had a challenge to see who would bail first trying to listen to full LP ; Even with a joint or 2 and some Tequila shots I bailed first and quite early

Last band I was with asked me for new song to add to set list I choose Perfect Day ; Rest of Band didn't have same fondness I had for it but I did get in

I’m pretty sure I have everything he recorded, aside from some odd singles. Even Hudson River Wind Meditations, and I have Metal Machine Music on CD, LP (which I bought in the mid-80s), and 8-track. I almost bought it in quad, too, when I saw it at a friend’s record store, but I knew it would lead me on a fruitless quest to find a system to play it on.

Transformer. But, not because of "Walk On The Wild Side" or "Satellite of Love" (although both great). "Vicious" and "I'm So Free". And "Sweet Jane" live. Prakash John on bass. Also, as and aside, "Rock 'n' Roll" was covered by the band Detroit, feat. Mitch Ryder. It's a Motor City monster! And, supposedly, Reed's favorite version.
