IME he is always ready to support his product and make it right. Please let us know how it unfolds.
That sucks. The problem is, Don is so busy and has so many cabs that he is building or has recently built, you have to keep on him about the fine details. He has probably built 50+ cabs exactly like yours with any number of options. That said, the extra effort is well worth it. Don's craftsmanship is at least as good as anyone else. Better than most.
Don will make it right to your satisfaction, so no worries there.
I never had to ride him about the details of my cabs. I had 2 exact same cabs built 2 years apart and he got everything perfect including minor tweaks to the 2nd cab such as flaring the inside of the slot ports too, a very nice touch.

As was expected, Don is going to make it right. He's going to build a cab to the proper dimensions and ship it to me. I'm going to transfer the drivers and crossover into the new cab.
In the interim, I told Don I would try to sell the current box. All hardware would remain with the exception of the drivers and crossover. It's in new condition and its never left my house. If anyone in the club is interested, please shoot me a PM. I'm going to create a proper sale thread tonight.
I'll add this......it sounds AWESOME with the tube head driving it. Even with the master on 3, I was shaking the walls with tubey goodness
LDS. I designed them, Don made them, very well. 15" KLLF 18 Sound 6" mid.
The top cab was designed right-side up just like the 1st cab. But, the jackplate was installed upside-down and on the opposite side of the bottom cab. So when they're used in the configuration shown the jackplates are on the same side right together.
If I ever start using the top cab as a stand alone I might simply turn the jackplate 180 degrees.

I agree with that. Actually, I'm contemplating switching my Fatial from my 12/12/6 to my 15/6 and vice versa, since I think the 18 sound will do a better job keeping up with two 12s than the Fatial. It is very smooth, but I think the 12s need a little more cut from the 18sound.
Good news, bad news.
On the good news: for two years I've been wanting to shellac my tweed LDS 15/6 to give it an aged look. Yesterday, I finally did it. Here's the before and after:

Don, I think is behind schedule a bit. My 2x15 build has taken a long time and was supposed to be done about the same time it actually got started but, I think that Don is still getting settled in his new home and has some other non-speaker related projects. It's usually a longer wait than expected but, always a good result.
Yeah, that looks pretty sweet. Don was supposedly done my 215/tweet awhile ago but was waiting for more tolex. He drop shipped me the pair of 3015's to save some shipping wait. I plugged them in to some low frequency noise and they started making a weird rattle like some glued part was coming loose, or like the surrounds where just loosening up so, I let them run for about an hour and the sound didn't go away. I can actually track the sound down to the accordian edge of both drivers near one of the bolt holes. When I put some pressure with my finger on the surrounds, it goes away on both of them. It is wierd that the same thing happened to both in the same spot. I have another 3015 here and it makes no noises at all. Al at USspeaker said he will contact emininence on monday and I'll probably have to send them in. If they dont' go good on these, I will be PISSED. It's not like I put any real power to them at all and this is how I break in all of my drivers now. One way or another, by the time I get done doing the dance with eminence, I'll probably have an empty cab sitting at my house, missing some of the few electric gigs I have left for the year. I am not happy about this at all. Im tempted to order an 8ohm faital to try next my functioning 3015 but, at this point I have alot of money tied up in drivers.
So I have been thinking about ordering a 2X15 from Don for awhile. I am specifically looking for one without a tweeter. I like cabs without crossovers because I can fix just about anything at a gig should it go wrong.
Anything interesting Don has done for anybody in that realm? Any features I should think about getting?
