Giggity in deed. So.... anyway. yeah, I wanted the cab to be alittle more low mid focused and I think the slight tuning difference did just that. Too much tighter may have made it boomy. I had to keep telling Don to use the mattress topper to line the cab and man, does that work great! There is no ring at all. An almost sealed quickness. Don did a great job with bracing as well.

There is NOBODY out there who puts out the kind of quality that Don does for the kind of price he charges. I really don't know how he makes any money. I mean that. If you really know what you want, keep on him about the fine details. If you don't know for sure, he will have good suggestions. You may wait a bit longer than quoted but, you won't care once you get your cab. As long as you picked the right cab for you of course.

My 2x15 came out so well that Im considering doing a 6x10 using 2510-II drivers. I moddeled a tuning that matches my NV610 cab and bet this cab would just crush. And be lighter. I have no complaints with the new cab at all. I will say though that I have to eq the mids pretty heavily to get closer to my normal sound. A multi-10 loaded cab just has something going on that I always prefer. I would definitely would low pass one vertical stack of the drivers. I'd normally do it at around 500hz but, if it was done at around 1khz, the mids would be thickend up and sound roughly like the 3015's tone profile only with alittle more top end and a slight bump at 150hz with an earlier low end rolloff.

I also thought it would be cool to run 5 of the 2510's and then add a celestion G10 guitar driver high passed at around 150hz. That could really be great too.

Don gave me a quote for 12+6 to match my current cab, and it's very reasonable. Once I've paid off the bass fund, I think I'll be ordering.

Anyone have suggestions for features to ask for? My current cab has a removable telescoping handle with casters, akin to a luggage bag, but I really don't use it much. I'm thinking dish style handles on the side and a strap handle on top; at less than 38 lbs, I can lug that in one hand, pull the other cab with the other, and sling the gigbag on my back with my head in there.

I'd be tempted to use this new can as my standalone if I can get some kind of tilt back built it; anything out there besides the Fender style legs?

I have a 12x6x1 from Don that I got earlier this year. It's basically a "Nearful" and 1 hand carries are awkward. I keep trying to get around to posting a pic here. He added a tilt back on the bottom which is nice and deep dish handles on the side. Per his suggestion, I went with a Faital mid. Great cabinet, smooth xover, but it is a little bigger than I expected - even though I knew the dimensions ahead of time - I just didn't plan out it's size as well as I thought I did.

I've replaced the 18Sound in my 12/6/1 with a Faital.
I like the Faital better, it's smoother, sweeter, and more present all at the same time.

However, I'm not at all happy with the fF spec crossover.
The 18Sound was padded back, the Faital shouldn't be.
The horn is crossed way to high for what I want it to do.
So, Don put me in touch with his crossover guy; I pulled both crossover boards and the input jack panel and sent it all off to get re-worked.
