Are the photos the before and then the after or the after and then the before? The top one looks like the after shot.

I have emailed Don and he sent me a quote on a basic 2X15. He invited me to call him to discuss a build, but I was more curious about people's gigging experience with them before I do call him.
What works, what doesn't, what is essential, what is not worth the money, what they thought of various drivers, etc.
I currently am running an old Peavey 2X15 D. It is an alright cab but it is heavy, big (18 inches deep), and the BW drivers are a bit fragile. I already blew one. I was being an idiot at the time but I would still like something with a bit higher excursion for peace of mind.
Plus what I here about the 3015 non-LFs lead me to believe that it will be a step up soundwise.
Hey Rushing, that green 2x15 is so sweet looking. It looks like my similar 2x15 (3015 and apt80 tweet loaded) has been delivered so, I'll have a new toy when I get home. I'd like to hear your opinion of it. I also heard back from eminence about the two 3015's I sent in with a rattle. It was some glue on the outside gaskets making a tacky, rattling sound so that just re-glued. Luckily, I have a spare 3015 at home and a buddy is letting me borrow another one so, I'll get to hear the cab tonight. Don drop shipped me the drivers a few weeks ago. Im going to try the cab as is, with one set of ports blocked and with both sets of ports blocked. My cab is like two seperate 1x15's so, I've got options.
My cab is 22" wide and I made Don use mattress topper to line the cab instead of the regular stuff he uses. I prefer the sound and it makes it more suitable in case I want to use the cab sealed. I also had it tuned alittle tighter in the low end than JohnK's cab or the dually/barefaced cabs. These things should give it a slightly different sound than some of the others like it. More suited to me.
Tuned tighter as in lower? I looked at doing something similar. Still on the fence for which 15 to use. Wonder if anyone has tried the new 15fh520 by Fatial in a one way cab?
I really dig the cab but haven't had the chance to fully crank it yet and its gonna be awhile longer now...my Ampeg 7 Pro died and is being sent back in.
I gave the new LDS 2x15/tweet a good workout this afternoon next to my nv610, outside in the country, LOUD. First, the cab is dead sexy to me. Black tolex with that really nice metal screen with the small holes. Im really glad that I went with the apt tweet. The cab wouldn't have been bright enough for me without it. The 3015's aren't bright enough for me on there own but, the 15pr400 is. I may get an 8 ohm one to try in this cab. But, the apt is actually pretty nice sounding for a tweet and I barely have it on. I tried all ports open, one blocked the both blocked. I think that I prefered to have the top cab sealed and the bottom open but, ended up going fully ported. Tomorow nights gig got canceled so, no gig report. I will have a new genz benz focus 4x10 tomorow to compare though. This is the best 2x15 cab that I've ever heard and one of the only ones that I have ever liked. More lows than I would ever use, more mids than the nv610 and similar highs with the tweet off. It definitely doesn't have that compressed punch of the sealed cabs but, it not supposed to. Though I got some really nice punch by rolling back the lows and bumping the low mids. I got some nice aggression by adding in some 3khz and turning the tweet almost off. The cab is VERY sensative and is louder than the NV610 at the same amp settings. Alot of guys have said how this type of cab is louder than an ampeg 8x10. Well, it is more efficient and has more lows. It probably is about the same overall output, only way smaller and lighter. Probably the same overall output as the NV610, though I do like how sealed multi-10 loaded cabs handle high output. I'll have pictures and more thoughts later this weekend. This is a really nice cab.
Just sent an email to Don inquiring about a cab to pair up with my neo 3-wat 1x12". Current cab has 1 12", a mid, and a tweeter. I'm trying to figure out my budget, and asked about a 1x12" with a mid, no tweeter since I usually roll it off, same aesthetics (orange tolex, silver Fender grill cloth, chrome corners), this type with deep dish handles instead of the spring loaded ones I have on my current cab.
I also asked about recommendations he might have regarding tiltback (which would get more use when the cab is solo). I also want a strap handle on top for when I'm lugging one handed.
I'm not a speaker/ cab/ tone junkie, I just know that Don built me an awesome cab and I let him choose the drivers and tweeter, but I did ask if he might give me an opinion whether he could build something nEarful, or if that would work well with my current cab.
As long as it sounds as good as my current cab, minus the tweeter, and has the same width for stacking (depth/height don't matter as long as its as deep as my current cab.
I'm excited to hear back, as I recall the price on my first LDS being ridiculously low for completely custom.
Anyone have any design features I should be asking for? I'm playing a Dingwall ABZ five in B standard, and a bunch of passive four strings into a Yamaha BBT500H, and avoiding anemic, crispy solo bass tones.

My version is 22" wide, 15.5" deep and 36" tall. 68lbs. Man, I had this thing outside again today playing at volumes that made my SM9.2 clip light come on and it didn't even break a sweat. I can't imagine how loud you would have to play before you could hear this cab break up. Granted, the 9.2 does have a very nice output limiter to stop anything nasty from happening but, seriously, at 30 feet away, outside in a completely open area (like a field), the sound pressure in your chest was amazing.

I would have Don copy the same cab, minus the tweet. same drivers, same porting, same internal volume.
Two seperate chambers. They should be 65 liters each, tuned for 55hz but, I haven't checked the port length to see if Don followed the tuning I suggested or not. I really don't care, it sounds awsome. I will definitely being trying some faitals in the cab at some point too. The 3015's really needed that tweet for me. Just that little bit of sparkle wakes the cab up. The faitals wouldn't need it. I really goosed the mids on the genz to get it to sound more like my sealed cab. Low mid frequency 9:00 with gain on 3:00, hi mid frequency at 3:00 with gain on 3:00. Global high control at 12:00. Very hard hitting and punchy. I have no complaints. Im sure that the faitals woudn't be as low mid punchy but would be brighter. At least judging from the 4 ohm one that i had.
I am very interested in hearing your take on the fatials. It would be awesome if you are able to dial in the low mid punch with the GB eq section. It looks like you have less internal volume with a higher tuning than John K's rig or the dually. Nice to here that parameters can change and the speakers still perform!
