well I got the call from Don saying my cab is finished, and he was super impressed with the Weber Mich speaker i supplied for the build. It's shipping tomorrow
I talked to Don about other matters and he said he is getting caught up. Hope you enjoy your cab!
My cab's been ready for over three weeks, but I didn't know this because I wasn't called. I've decided to take delivery, and we'll see how the cab pans out. I hope it plays well with my Mesa 400+, as well as my WW Ultra.
I must say that Don has been very good about calling me and letting me know what's happening. He just called me today and has probably called me 3 times in the last two weeks.
I am quite happy with his level of service.
The first one of my 1-12s ships today and the other one probably tomorrow.

I can't say enough about how great Don's work is. It sounds greate and lookis good too. I am rockin' the house with an LDS 4x8 that tracks my low B on a 6 string, and has enough mid punch and high end to cut through drums, congas, and timbales plus a loud guitar player and B3 with Leslie. It looks great too. I cannot believe how low this tiny little cab goes and how well it cuts through the mix! It seems funny to play through the SVT at rehearsal and then to a gig with a 4x8. LOL
Looks like I'm about to pull the trigger on a 12/6 with Don soon.
I've never played through a cab with a 6" midrange speaker before, do they handle the highs (4khz+) pretty well? I'm not sure whether or not to go with a 12/6/1 configuration, just for flexibility.

i can't live without a horn myself.
i mostly play active j-basses or upright, and i mostly use a mesa M9, which has beautiful top end sheen.
while i don't run the horn very hard, i really miss it when i have to use cabs that don't have one

Before I purchased my video recorder, I was posting audioclips on iComposition. Here's an audio clip of an LDS 12/6 with Faital mid driver. Beautiful cab, and the top end is beautiful to me... not sizzly, but it goes way up there.

Hypothetical question (since I currently lack the heads to do a direct comparison):
LDS fEarful style 15/6 and Mesa PH112. Which will be louder, 300 watts through both at 4 Ohms or 500 through the 15/6 alone? Waddya think?

I think you misunderstood. The 2 cabs together with the Walkabout's TOTAL 300 (150 each) vs 500 into the 15/6 ONLY were the scenarios I was wunnerin' about.
hey did anyone see my cab at LDS..
If you could see the area Don has to work in, you would understand why it takes so long. You literally cannot swing a bat in his work area. I was frankly amazed that he gets the production he does. Not much bigger than a walk in closet. It's one at a time, if that. Stay patient, my friends ( and thirsty ! ).
Yeah, I was getting a little antsy after they had not been built for over 4 months, but now that my cabs are on their way, I'm pretty fired about them.
