yes, I was being flippant.
Tony's playing on Us is the finest bass work I have ever heard. Fabulous and powerful without being cocky or insipid.
His rhythmic grooves are what the entire album is built on, it flows with an emotional connection to the lyrics in a way bass guitar rarely can.
Interestingly 'Kiss the Frog' is the song I have always hated on this record... It turns out it's one of only two that Tony Levin didn't play on... Maybe if Tony had been around I wouldn't have had to permanently delete that track from my collection.

As for Muse, City Of Delusion. Again, heard the voice as a.dynamic line, but the lyrics are great.

Lots of Rush speaks to me, absolutely. Not so much the sci fi and fantasy ones, though there are a few, but the ones where Peart is talking about human nature or society.
Subdivisions spoke to me a lot when I was a teenager. So did most of the Grace Under Pressure album.
As for the "cheesy" sci fi lyrics, I love them. I love sci fi and I really have no respect for people who don't have any imagination. Geezer Butler's crazy sci fi lyrics are the same way. Ozzy's delivery of them makes them even more powerful.
Another great fantasy lyric that doesn't really "speak to me" but which I just love is Tales of Great Ulysses. Again, Jack Bruce's delivery takes what is already awesome and blows it out of the water.
