Mad Professor Bass OD???

Sitting here in my arm chair, I honestly have to say that clip sounds very similar to the Honey Bee clone I built and have had some play time with. More low end, but that would be expected because Bjorn has been quoted saying the Honey Bee was derived from the Blue Berry and tweaked for guitar. It sounds like there's more gain on tap as well.
I really want to try building another clone and tweaking it for bass, before I drop the dough on the Mad Professor version.

That demo didn't show the unit going under noon on nature. Weird!
Also, for you current and ex-bbbod owners like me, did that video sound a little bright to you?!? The bbbod I had was VERY dark and definitely not bright.

I tend to disagree! The unit that Valerus, grygrx, nad, and I had was VERY dark...that vid was really bright!
Maybe due to the settings on the video? Were you able to discern if the video's noon setting (nature) was as dark as the original version's when at noon? Maybe it was the bass? Playing with a pick? Speakers? I dunno, just throwing possibilities out there.
+1. And I probably wouldn't turn the drive knob much past 9:00-10:00, from what it sounds like in the video.

On my BJFE if you turn the tone knob counter clockwise it tends to distort more.
I don't think the BJFE is THAT dark, especially when using with a J.
Wait... to me, the MP Blueberry sounded pretty bright in that video. You're saying the BJFE is brighter? The clips I've heard of the BJFE don't sound as aggressive as the MP did. I must have missed something?

That clip did sound a bit bright to me, but, I generally keep the tone knob on my Blueberry around 9:00 and it makes the low end distort more. I usually have the gain way down around 7:00 or 8:00 as well so it almost cleans up if I play lightly. It's hard to compare from that video.
