Not to bring up this old chestnut, but I'm thinking that the PBass once again reigns supreme.
That thick quartersawn neck is a good gripping surface, and I'm thinking that the symmetrical body would make it easier to maintain a consistent swing, versus a more unwieldy, asymmetrical J-Bass
It'd probably still be in tune afterwards as well.
Hope for the victim's sake it wasn't a 90's Warwick, although that would be metal as #$%^.
