I'd love to play a bass like thst

It's a heavily chambered alder (1-1/4" back) /maple (1/4" top) body with an imbedded brass bridge anchor. It's sonic character leans toward it being a lead bass, but it also holds down the bottom.

I don't own a bass with a Maple fretboard, all of mine are Rosewood or Ebony. I've owned many in the past and always found they were a bit brighter sounding than my Rosewood basses. I bought a Precision 5 about 6 years ago with a Maple fretboard and quickly returned it for a Rosewood version.

If I'm going to own a bass with a Maple fretboard, it has to have either a gloss or satin finish on it, I just don't like tongue oil Maple fretboards. They get dirty fast and look like crap to me when they do.
