Maple fingerboards!

I was the 3rd post, now i am feeling ever so slightly humbled.drooldrool

Don't be. Its about maple fingerboards not headstock logos or body-count.
I'm primarily a fretless player so it strikes me as a strange coincidence that, without ever seeking them out, every fretted bass I've ever owned (only 3 in 35 years, never more than one at a time and long periods with none) has had a maple board. 78/82 dot/bound Jazz, '82 Squier JV Precision and now the Ray34.
