And neither do you. For all you know he spent his entire tour in a recruitment office in Poughkeepsie pushing pencils. If it were my brother, who was in the Marines and did a tour in Viet Nam, I would tell him to suck it up and abide by the rules he agreed to when he moved in.
Correct me if I'm wrong, people, but I think that doing a tour in the recruitment office in the Marines is something you generally have to earn and is actually considered a sign of prestige in that particular branch.
But with that said, I have to agree with the people saying that just because he served doesn't give him the right to break the rules. I'm not a fan of HOAs either. There may be a legitimate reason for the rule or it may be another one of those asinine HOA "Oh noessss, you can't paint your door red, because it will devalue all of our homes by $2.59" type of rule.
