Markbass compressore??

I have a prime setting on my compressore for bass and one for guitar. My initial purpose for this guy was limiting+, but the deliciously funky thing it does to my tone after some knob tweaking was "to hot to stop!". Now it is set as more of a slight effect to use always. The form of the pedal holds settings steady durring travel but I hate the size and shape in every other way. I wish they would offer it in a box shape...easier to pack.

I've been using it in my rig and into an AudioBox for tracking bass and guitar ideas for the band. my band noticed a difference.

I was on a waiting list for months but saw a used one pop up last week here so I jumped on it. I really like it a lot! I don't have anything to add really beyond Bongomania's excellent observations... but I will underscore that the main thing that floors me about this pedal is the lack of noise. You could really boost the signal with hardly any noise--unlike most any other "bass dedicated" device on the market IME, and more like expensive studio rack gear--the way it should be!

It only took me about 2 minutes to dial in the settings I was looking for. I have had many other brands of bass compressors over the years, but even with the good ones, I eventually grew tired of the simple settings and desired more tweakability. I really would not describe myself as a knob tweaker; I'm more of a "set it and forget it" kind of guy, but every few months I do wanna hear a different sound, and get bummed out when I turn knobs and not much happens, or even worse--wishing I could turn knobs that aren't there! ;-)

The Compressore pedal seems to be exactly what I was looking for as a transparent "limiter" with the ability to add just a touch of color without any noise.

Glad it's working for you. I actually like the sound of the Compressore a lot, but for what I want (dealing with envelope filter peaks) it was overkill.

I was at the GC in Nashville yesterday. I have one on order from the website, yet the Nashville store has TWO of them. ARRRRGH!

I think I'm going to cancel my online order and pick one up locally. They will match the $199 price.

CHicago matched the web price, but they charged for shipping and I had to pay tax (despite living in tax free NH) and so it was just under $220 for me. I figure it is worth 20 to me to get it over 2 months sooner. I'll get $20 pleasure out of it in the next 2 months for sure.

Just got mine yesterday, I played with it for an hour or two before it was time to cook dinner...

But my initial impression is that I can barely hear what this thing does. It definitely does smooth out the sound, and does it very transparently. It seems to even out the tone and level the lows mids and highs. It definitely made tapping sound more natural, brought out slaps and tamed pops, and for finger style it was sort of like a blanket of eveness.

Now, part of my problem (like its a problem HA!) is that I'm playing through a big ol' SVT tube head. Since the tubes in the head are adding their own layer of compression I suppose its possible that I'm not hearing the pedal as much. I'm going to play it through my solid state head this evening to see if it makes a more notable difference.

To be honest, I'm considering returning it for a camera if it doesn't do a little more to impress me, but I will say that its dead quiet in operation. Gonna play around some more and come back.

Lastly, anyone want to share they're settings for this pedal?
