I've tried the F1 and really liked it. If the R500 hadn't wooed me away with it's tube preamp I'd have bought one.
Has anyone had a chance to audition your LMII through one of the new Bergantino Neo 410 cabinets?

Howdy ya'll. I recently began playing in two bands and have to frequently transport my LMII between two spots. Now, does anybody know where I would be able to find any rack ears? Or are there other alternatives i.e, a carrying case. Any suggestions would help alot, because at this rate I'll bust up my new LMII in no time just moving it around. Thanks
Lots of people use Laptop style bags, tools bags or the MB bags.
Some people even get the LMII in their gig bag pockets.

Something just came to my attention - that MarkBass heads don't handle anything less than 4ohms well. Is this true?
I've been running my SA-450 through a Carvin LS-1503 which is only rated at 8ohms.
Sorry, if there's already been a lot of discussion about this "issue", but I just want to know if I've been potentially damaging my amp head.

According to people on here who've done it, the Markbass heads let you know really quick when you've done something wrong with impedance by shutting down until it cools down.

+1... it's a pretty good match. Most of us preferred the F1 to the LMII with the AE410 when we did our last GTG... a little tighter, and the slightly more aggressive upper mid voicing and tighter low end of the F1 seemed to fit the vibe of the somewhat aggressive AE410... really punchy, and a touch grindy and gritty up top... nice with a J Bass.
The SD800 sounds killer with the AE410 also... with the tight low end and that low mid voicing of the AE410 really tightening up the big low end of the SD800..... very even, pure and crisp... probably too much so for some... it's really 'trasparent'.
The LMII, F1 and SD800 all sound quite nice with the AE410... but IMO and IME, the best match to my ear is the F1 with that cab (assuming you want it clean, tight and somewhat modern sounding).
It's never a problem to run a higher impedance cab (i.e., 8 ohm) with a SS head. The 4ohm rating is a 'minimum safe rating' for that head. Running it at 8ohms just results in it putting out less than its full rated power... a little bit of a waste, but surely no problem and no damage will occur.

While I've been told that Ampeg is the standard, I was told to check out Markbass.
I found the CL108 and the Classic 300 head, both which look amazing, but i'm unable to find online dealers and prices for them.
What do you guys think about those two products and how do they stack up against the Ampeg equivalent?

I heard these didnt hit the US yet but you can special order one.
the Israeli distributer has a CL108 and Classic 300 head in stock since august.
I'm afraid to check it out because I might do something silly like actually buying it.
Though I love MB, you might want to check into the Carvin B1500. Alot of metal guys love it. Very loud and not overly pricey for what it is. Also sounds terrific.

Smakkin basses for 25 years..
I was playing my LMK last night at rehearsal had two basses with me my Ken Lawrence Brace II and a parts Pre bass (with Lane poor pup) I just picked up, normally with my Brace or my Moon Climb I play with the eq totally flat and the VLE and VLF completely off...But I wasnt feeling the sound so much with the Pre so I dialed in the VLE and bam there was the sound....maybe my ears just want to hear more of a vintagey vibe with the pre....
