Hi all, this is mine. After playing 5 stringer for almost 30 years, I felt like going back to four. Thought that a jazz would be nice. Then I noticed an ad at a local forum where somebody wanted to trade a mayones jabba 4 for a 5 stringer. So he got my G&L 2500 and I got this beauty. It felt really nice from start, but after installing flats it was heaven!

Until a few weeks ago, I almost exclusively played and owned several Warwicks. I recently sold a Corvette $$5FL because I didn't like the sound, neither the neck profile, and the body is not shaped.
By chance a Mayones BE 5FL custom was for sale locally. So the guy selling had made the neck through on custom. Plays beautifully, great sustain as a fretless, and the Barts electronic is very powerful.
I have to say that I'm very happy with the purchase! Would not mind another Mayones

I bought last week a very old (2004) Mayones BE4 Fretless, I got it quite cheap from the first owner and I wanted to try a fretless, just for the fun, with the idea to sold it quickly after been convinced that fretless is not for me.
Well this little bass is incredible and will stay at home. Even my trusty P51 is jealous... the finish is perfect, it's light, the neck is..perfect, the sound exactly to my liking (Bartolini Pickups J/J and Bartolini HR3.4 preamp , and Rotosound Tru Bass 68 nylon strings)

I'm definitely in the market for a Mayones 5 string. The BE Elite 5 seems to be what I'd prefer due to the 17mm spacing.
I played this bass:
Mayones Patriot 4 Custom Natural Fade Purple Burst
at Brian's guitars and was instantly hooked because of the craftsmanship and playability. The damn thing played itself.
After chatting with the guys at the shop they mentioned each Mayones instrument came from Poland still in tune, and their setup guy even commented how he had to literally do nothing to adjust anything on these instruments from the factory.

Just now reading this. I tried contacting Mayones a few times over a year but they just wouldn't get back to me so I gave up on them. Kind of soured me on the whole Mayones experience. If I could sell the bass to someone who could do the work themselves, it would be gone tomorrow.
Completely different experience: last year I was interested in a pre-owned BE-5 bolt-on. What puzzlesd me was that the neck didn't have a serial number. Mayones customer service replied to me within a few hours on my question. I didn't buy that bass finally, but I'm impressed by Mayones response.
Depending what the problem in your bass is, get it fixed by a good luthier.
I have been asked by a few people if I would part with my #1 bass. I am in a bit of a bind involving a New Sadowsky so I may consider selling my 2018 Mayones MBC5 Slogan Gothic. The MBC's are Mayones Custom Shop. There are maybe 3 or 4 of these released out in the wild.

I am in the market for a new bass, and Mayones is on my short list. I am trying to understand the not so obvious differences between the Jabba and the Hadrien Feraud model. I can read the details on their website, so I am curious is anyone has experience comparing these two models, or knows of a thread that does.
There are two Hadrien Feraud Jabba models - one with a J(J) configuration and one with a PJ configuration. Which one are you looking at?

I have the PJ and really love it, but, yes, the differences to the standard Jabba are not big: different pickups manufacturer (Delaney vs Aguilar), a different bridge, a different arrangement of the controls, and then of course the spruce top and the acrylic ramp. That is all I can remember right now... others can hopefully confirm and/or add more info.
Picked up this Comodus Classic 6 back in January. My first Mayones and first 6. I don't have a huge collection but this is definitely the highest quality bass I've owned......and I think it's dead sexy, like most of the others I've seen on here!
I haven't had the time to really get comfortable on it yet so was thinking of trading back to a 5 but got cold feet and decided she's staying for a while.
I did have a question for anyone else who has a matte/satin finish on theirs. Do you do anything specific to care for it.....other than occasional wipe down with a dry cloth? Mine is Liquid Raw Black and specifically the burl poplar top has lots of exposed grain and open pores. Just want to make sure I'm taking care of it the right way.

Hey there my fellow Mayones, um, spreaders? Here is the positively lick-able 2021 triskelion Cali 4 I just received from Sebastopol Music in California. Shout out to Alain at Sebastopol who shipped it all the way to Australia and was a delight to deal with - he clearly has great passion for Mayones' work!
I'm using it in passive mode which sounds superb. Between the 19mm bridge spacing (11mm at the nut) and a Boss OC-5 octave pedal set to "Guitar" mode, this is the mightiest travel "bass" combo I could wish to have! The fret spacing quickly gets tight past fret #18 but the intonation is perfect all the way to #24 across all strings so my pinky isn't redundant.

The more I play my Comodous vs other basses the more I realize what an amazing instrument it is. I only have this one example but I'm assuming most if not all play this well.
