I'd take a third of a billion to get in the ring with either one of them - of course, I'd go down on the first hit.
Would you do it if you were told you'd get pummeled and knocked out cold?

I'm not so sure I would. It's too risky in my opinion.

Totally agree. Pro fighters are in tremendous shape, and genetically gifted also. A knockout is traumatic to them - for me, even in my long-lost prime, I would be afraid of incurring permanent damage - paralysis or something else like that. Not worth a billion.

But on that, I have to say that on most other forums I've seen, this would have devolved into toxicity and abuse. Makes me appreciate our "little" virtual community even more.

I would love to see CM knock out FM, I also believe it is possible, even though CM can only use a small portion of his skills to fight by Queensberry Rules.
I enjoyed the early days of MMA when they put different pugilistic disciplines against each other, MMA has come a long way in 20+ years, so it's a very different/developed sport now.
I think if Floyd can duck and cover for many rounds he will win the fight, if he tries to really go after CM as he says he is going to, he may get knocked out.
While I appreciate some people here thinking that any thoughts of CM winning just shows a lack of understanding of boxing, I beg to differ.
I've been watching boxing for 50 years and watching MMA for 25 years, and I know there is surely a possibility that the fight could go either way.

I agree completely with how mma has changed and has become a sport. In the early days it was not a sport but a fight. UFC 1 had no weight classes or restrictions, no rounds or time limit, no rules and the ref was not to stop the fight or intervene in any way unless one combatant tapped, got knocked unconscious or the corner threw in the towel. I think if there was no time limit, no round break and less referee interference in the fights we might see differant fighters at the top. Obviously now that everybody is so skilled there just has to be weight classes. I still love mma and the sport it has become but there are times I miss the days when it was more of a fight than a sport.
I go back and forth about Mayweather pressuring Mcgregor and getting in close. You might be right that pressing the issue is a bad idea but I just wonder if Floyd is bluffing or not. I feel like while Conor can throw him around when they clinch and is stronger, Floyd has a lot more skill at inside boxing and can do damage to the body and head in that range. Also he can smother the shots from Conor before they get full power on them. Conor usually has success setting up the left hand with great variety, freezing his opponent and lunging with full power from distance. I could be wrong but I don't re,bee him landing devastating shots from inside boxing or clinch range. Mcgregor is a good counter puncher also so it's a tough call. I did see a punchy sugar shane Mosley say he thinks pressing Conor is a good idea. We'll find out soon.
I cannot think of another 'sporting event' that I've ever heard of in which I have had less interest.

I can understand why you might not like Mayweather, but why is Conor McGregor garbage human?
