Meris Enzo Synth Pedal

Hmmm, I am going to have to email tech support because I tried all of the above Alien8 suggestions with new strings and no tone knob roll off. Opening the filter to high levels when cutoff is set below 12:00 is impossible in both envelope modes. Envelop follower mode is worse, its ok for thinner raunchy high mid range envelope filtering but nothing like most of the envelope filters I have had (I am a JUNKY for envelope followers). In Trigger mode I get some great tones, and they get deeper, but I can't get anything usable bellow 12:00.

I like the tone, but I am probably going to flip this if tech support says nothing is wrong with it, just not dynamic enough:(. Love how simple the interface and the base tone of the pedal, I just need more dynamics.

Isn’t there a sensitivity setting on a secondary function? I thought the Enzo sounded great as an envelope filter when I tried it.

Have you tried the State Variable LPF? And I assume messed with the Q as well? Also, what kind of output do your basses have? I don’t feel I have an issue with the sweep personally, though the sweep settings are super touchy for me which can be irritating

Hmm, I have mostly used the 4 pole setting but I have tested passive and active outputs on my bass. In envelope follower mode with minimum sustain, max envelope, I do not get much of a sweep and it is useless below 12:00 unless you like that muffled sound.

I’m always searching for synth sound ... had a few in the past , they were always missing something , and I’m always testing synth sounds by stacking filters fuzzes and octaver , like I did here :

Best synth pedal I ever owned Is the bananana mantryoska - but you can’t save any settings on it , here’s the demo I did for it -

I trust the Enzo can get same sounds as the matryoshka, if it does - matryoshka is for sale :)

Hi Ilan. Did you get to try the Enzo? If so, can it get the same sounds as the Matryoshka? I ordered a Matryoshka and it arrived today but now I'm wondering if I should get an Enzo instead, for more functions and versatility.

edit: I just read though the thread (sorry, I'm new here) and see that you own and love the Enzo. So... did you sell the Matryoshka? Should I return my Matryoshka and get an Enzo?

Hi!

I hope this message is OK for this group.

I just wanted to let you know that I've updated my web editors for the Meris Enzo and Mercury7.

They now include a simple preset manager.

Check them out at StudioCode.dev: MIDI applications that run in your browser

Feedback welcome. Thank you.
This is amazing! The randomize feature is genius. Thanks! I’m looking forward to the Hedra one.

Question. Just hooked up the Enzo to my pedalboard. The power (voodoo labs) from 3 inputs the enzo didnt power up. So I had another voodoo Lab 2 and was working with that to see if something was wrong cause it powered up fine with a boss type power supply. The outlets 5 and 6 worked with enzo pedal. Not the rest. 5 and 6 have an mA 250 and the enzo instructions said mA 150.. All The other outlets on the Labs are mA 100. If I run it 9v 250 mA will this cause damage?

No it won't. As long as the voltage is right, a higher amperage is no problem at all. I occasionally ran the Enzo at 300 mA, and even from a 1 A adapter, without any problems. Quite the contrary: more A often means more headroom (depending on the circuit of course).

mA current from a power supply is just a “maximum available” measurement, and the amount listed for your pedal should be a “maximum required” measurement. That way you can daisy-chain multiple pedals off a single power outlet as long as the pedal’s total required mA’s are below the maximum available from that outlet (most analog pedals like overdrives for example only require less than 50mA, so a number can be chained from one outlet).

Dunno if you flipped it or not... But for other users, the global setting for instrument and line level gives you less or more range for the sweep. Instrument level makes the sweep a bit more narrow stopping at a lower frequency.

Hey, everybody! Stupid question of the day:

Enzo is my second Meris pedal, ever, and while I do own an Ottobit, I didn't dive to deep into MIDI, EXP, presets etc., until now. I plan on using Enzo with my Gigrig G3, once I get it (around July, probably), but thought, I'd get familiar with the expression, until then, because those synth sweeps just seemed to cool not to try.

Question: do you have to 're-configure' the toe-down toe-up positions of the knobs, everytime you power up the pedal? I mean, it doesn't save where the knobs have been set, when you took the pedal off the power. Seems a little strange, tbh, because I can't set up presets, afaIk, as long as I'm using the expression pedal. Am I missing something?

And don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all. Love this pedal! :D

Thanks!

A preset contains knob settings for the toe-up position, and another set of settings for the toe-down position. The position of the expression pedal interpolates between those knob settings. Using an expression pedal or cycling the power does not change the preset.

Now that you have 2 Meris Pedals and are making the jump to midi you may want to check out my Editors and Librarians for the Meris pedals. Here are videos for the Enzo and Ottobit. They run on Windows10 or MacOS. Download links are in the video description.
