Meris Enzo Synth Pedal

Updated the Enzo Editor. https://github.com/Ell.../Enzo-Editor-and-Librarian/releases

New Features in Version 3.6
  • Ability to update a preset, without creating a new name
  • Updated file browser
and a number of bug fixes
Here is the video for the previous version (It is similar enough that I don't think I'll make a new video.)

To update a preset without changing the name, the preset needs to be saved onto one of the 16 preset buttons. Select the preset, make an edit, and press the new "update preset" button on the top menu bar.

I got a preset switch made for this like the one here,
Building a DIY Preset Switch for Meris Pedals — Derek L'Hirondelle

The switcher worked perfect on the builders Polymoon but when I use it it gets stuck on preset 4 once 4 is pressed and won't return to the others. Has anyone come across this?
I've tried a few cables. Standard TRS ones.
I'd rather hang on to the switcher than return it so I'm trying to troubleshoot here.

Thanks

Reach out to Meris, they are usually really helpful! Which version of Enzo do you have?

I’m not sure of the version.
Are there differences?
It’s not a Meris preset switch so I’m not sure how helpful they’d be. Could be worth a shot though
Thanks

There is a firmware update that they offer to use the synth mode switch like the alt switch.

Meris helped me regardless of the gear I had. They should be able to help you understand if your switch is wited correctly or if it's just a firmware issue.

Is the firmware update something you can do yourself?

No, you have to send it in. They were supr fast about it. Mine was gone for a total of 8 days and I'm in Ontario Canada.

You can tell the version by the location of the Meris barcode on the box, or by pressing and holding the mode button to see if you can change one if the secondary parameters, like filter resonance on the filter env knob.

Hi all fellow Enzo users..I am having a bit of an issue with my Enzo..I got the pedal about 3 weeks ago and it had been working great.. However I have decided to go to midi..I got a DMC micro and connected it to it..It worked well.. However I have a few other pedals and have connected them to it for experimental reasons and disconnected the Enzo from it..Now what's happening is everytime I turn on my Enzo it's on a Particular setting..I play around with it and get a completely different sound..then when I turn it off with this new sound turn it back on again It goes back to that same setting and sound everytime! It always goes back to dry mode when I turn it on even though I was on poly before I turned it off etc..It's like it's stuck on the same preset every time I turn it on..How can I get it back to normal and remember my settings before I turn it off.. Obviously the midi thing has affected it..ps: It's not even connected to the micro..

From the manual: "Depending on the EXP Jack modes you have chosen, the Enzo will scan the top layer knobs and update the knobs on power up. If your Enzo is set to either “Expression Pedal” or “Tap Switch” for its EXP mode, then it will scan the knobs at power up. This means if you change the knobs whether the unit is off, those values will be how the pedal sounds next time you turn the pedal is on. Additionally, the Tempo and the Synth Types are auto saved and return to whatever they were set to last when powering up the pedal. These behaviors are meant to mimic the behavior of how all classic guitar pedals work. If your Enzo is set to either “4 Button Preset Switch” or “MIDI” for its EXP jack mode, then the pedal will simply recall the preset that is stored in the current memory location. This setting makes sure that the Enzo functions like a standard multi-preset device, for those who depend on recalling exact sounds for a performance."

So if you want it to read the knobs on power up rather than giving you your last recalled preset you need to change the Global Expression jack mode when you first plug it in away from "MIDI" and to either "Expression Pedal" or "Tap Switch" (but you won't be able to use MIDI and have it do what you want at the same time)

Ah ok..That's it..makes sense..I turned it to Midi when connecting to the Micro.. Right now I have the Polymoon, Raster 2 and C4 connected to the micro..Once I get a Trs to dual TS y splitter il be hooking the Enzo back up to midi..cheers man..
Honestly there are a lot of quirks to the way that Meris has implemented features on their pedals that do bother me that are probably just a byproduct/limitation of the size/format, and since all of their pedals use the same general format they are all bothersome in the same ways. Still worth it though for some of the unique sounds they make and things they do that nothing else quite touches. I would love to see what they could do with a larger format pedal and menu screen at some point, though I don't get the impression they intend to go that direction as it seems in general newer companies are moving away from the larger boxes (with the exception of powerful modelers/multi-FX)

Yea I agree with you..I have the Polymoon as well as the Enzo and the sounds I get out of them are wonderfull...I'm just curious what their next pedal will be..Any suggestions or what you would like it to be?..It's been a while since the Hedra.. surely they must be working on something..

Hey Meris users..I'm having an issue with my Polymoon (I know it's an Enzo thread but it's related to midi lol...My Meris is hooked up to a DmC micro..When I press all my presets on the DMC micro the tempos are all the same.. like the presets are different parameters like they should be but the tempo doesn't change from one preset to the next..They are the factory presets and I never changed any of them..They were ok the last time I played around with them a few days ago..I tried changing things in global settings but to no avail..I don't know what's wrong!

I would guess you accidentally engaged the "Global Tempo" mode in the Global Menu, which sets the tempo to the tap regardless of saved settings
