And finally, got to play it for the first time tonight. All I can say is massive. :)

I'll probably repaint the grill black though. Not too keen on the silver.

Mucho jealous. That looks like a formidable rig.
I have never been a fan of the newer "powerhouse" grills. They look Like they belong to another company's gear.
The older "big square hole" grills kind have a habit of deforming though if you stand on them too much.

Hi all.
For those of you like me who have sent lobey a PM about receiving a club number and have been blown off I just sent him another PM.
I'm standing up for my fellow Mesa com-padres and am trying to resolve this issue. I'll copy and paste my message to him here for all of you to read.
Here it is.

lobey.
Besides me there are SEVERAL people requesting a Mesa Club Number who have sent you a PM that you haven't had the courtesy to reply to. Either you are too busy , or just lost interest. I realize it is just a silly number , but we have spent some big bucks for our gear and would like to show our pride and support to Mesa by displaying a Mesa Club Number on our TB Signature.
If you can't handle the responsibility of assigning club numbers to people that request them I will gladly take the responsibility for you. If you don't want me to take over handing out numbers then Please oblige the several people requesting one. Thank you for your time.

Now the waiting game to see if this accomplishes anything. Show your support to my cause to get a new moderator , and speak up if you have requested a Mesa Club Number and have been "Blown Off" as I have been.
Thanks!

I do hate asking these questions, but after looking at as much of the archives as I have I feel it just needs to be asked. I am looking to buy a m-pulse 360 head. Now to be honest I have never played through mesa boogie stuff, only know it to be good by reputation and what I have read here. It will be replacing a carvin bx-500. I know it dosnt have the same power, the carvin is 500 watts at 4 ohms and the 360 is 360 watts at 4 ohms, but I never really turn the carvin up past 2 or 3 on the master and have felt for a while like there might be more power there than I need right now. Although right now I am not playing out I am starting to think that even when I do start playing out again that I will have no need for a gi-gantor rig (sorry about making up words just like that one) . I am playing it through a Epifani UL410 4 ohm cab rated at 1000 watts. Love this cab and no interest in changing this out. Just not 100% in love with the head right now so was looking and found what looks like a good deal on the mesa boogie head.

So I guess I have three questions.

1 - These heads are a little older will it hold up for another 10 years if I take good care of it. Really just a question on quality and durability of mesa heads.

2 - Is 360 watts to little of power for my cab. The cab seems to be very efficient, but can you under power it. This is a concept I am not sure I still understand. can you simply put to to little to a cab and have it sound bad. I am looking at this right now as if I am only turning my present amp up to 1 or 2 on the master and getting levels good enough to practice at home, and shake most of the stuff on the walls, then it is like I am using only 100 watts of my amp. Not sure if this theory is correct but if it is then It shouldn't matter how many watts my amp has, but more how many of them I am giving to my cab. Not sure if I am asking this the right way, but I hope you get what I am asking. I think I am looking at it like this. If it is between this and the m-pulse 600 is there any point if I am not ever going to push the 600 past the upper limit of the 360. Would both of those amps sound the same at low volumes. Or maybe most simply has anyone used a 360 with a good 410 cab and how did it sound.

3 - anyone know how much this thing weighs. Don't see a weight in any of the spec sheets I have been able to find.

Thanks for your help.

The numbers on paper means nothing in this case. Honestly (and I'm not badmouthing Carvin, and yes 've used the BX heads), but I've not heard a Carvin head I liked cranked in a rock band like I like the Mesas. That 360 I'm sure will sound just as loud if not much sweeter. Their stuff really gets loud for the ratings.

No, you will not underpower the cab.
The durability, well they're built like tanks! No reason it's shouldn't last you 10-20 years. They build very high quality rigs.
The weight should be nearly the same as the MPulse 600, it's the built on the same platform.

Thanks. I have been reading a lot over the last few days on Mesa stuff and I am going to buy it Friday or Saturday. I took a leap of faith on the epifani and that turned out great. I am sure the Mesa will not disappoint. I will throw up a few shoths and impressions of the final rig when I get it. Once again thanks.

Well, here's my Mesa stack: 400+, 4x10 8ohm, 1x18 8 ohm. I'm still trying to get real happy with it. Probably need to use it more often so as to tweak the EQ for deep lows and defined mids. All without blowing out the crowd!;) I haven't had a chance to hear it played from the FOH position.

For the shoot I had to leave the wheels on the 4x10 'cause one of them refuses to come off. The caster is hung up on the release button when it's half off  Any suggestions guys?

Boogie On:cool:

I'm ready for my number Mr. Deville!
or not:rolleyes:

If you want a Titan, buy soon as they're going out of production.

:bawl: I've been checking out the Titan V12 and considering buying one to have an all-Mesa setup with the 2 PH212's I just ordered :bawl:.

(-But powering them with my Crest CA9/Demeter HBP-1 should work pretty well too. ;) )

Does anyone know if Mesa is coming out with a new model to replace the Titan V12, -with similar wattage ratings?

Not to the best of my knowledge. What I hear is that they will be working on the two new "all-tube" heads first, and I'm pushing them hard to make a 600-900 WalkAbout their next priority once those two are done.

You ain't the only one, bub, although I know you do ping them a lot more often than I do. :)

Suddenly drools uncontrollably... :hyper:

Sure you can join , but good luck getting a club number. This Lobey guy isn't really "On the ball" so to say.

Why don't you just issue yourself a number? Just look at the last numbers issued and take/claim the next one.

My guess is, that much juice wasn't a big enough seller, when their 'lesser' wattage models can disembowel the front row. But you can still find them new (bonus when used pops up). I finally caved and bought a new one locally 5 weeks ago, and got a good deal since it's now discontinued.

I still want a new all-tube unit whenever they finally materialize.
