Not to the best of my knowledge. What I hear is that they will be working on the two new "all-tube" heads first, and I'm pushing them hard to make a 600-900 WalkAbout their next priority once those two are done.
Can you say anymore about said heads?

Though it did have quite a unique feature set. If there wasnt a rumored 2 new tube models on the horizon I would be all over a V12. As it is I have a hard time passing up some of the used BB750's I see. I've got my fingers crossed for all tube+two discrete channels with separate EQ and master volumes. Hopefully with a good overdrive channel!

I believe one will use four KT88's, and that one will put out close to 400 watts. The other will use four either EL6L6's or EL34's, and will put out close to 200 watts. I believe that both are currently looking at using the M9 front end (which of course is not all-tube, but kicks butt anyway).
If this is the case then I will pass. I need something that does the Bass 400 sound but with a genuine way to switch between dirt and clean. I've tried using dirt pedals but they all castrate the bottom end. The M6 and M9 are nice, but they are really way too polite for a front end to an all tube head. In case Boogie hasn't noticed, the resurgence in Bass tube amps is largely due to the popularity of doom metal, stoner metal etc. Not genres known for nice polite bass tones. Compressors and such dont belong on tube amps.
Maybe I will get that BB750 on CL after all.
Or start a petition.
Ironically I am thinking of pickign up an M6 to use as my vanilla amp. For those occasions when no drivey tones are called for.

The 4xKT88/400 watt package might have my attention, depending "what all it does."
If it's strictly an M9 with a tube power section, I'm not sure why I'd opt out of my smaller, lighter, a**kickin' M9.

At 900W, is it still a Walkabout or does it become something else entirely? They already used Titan, so how about Stompabout or Juggernaut?
Could you feed the WA preamp signal via its effects send to the effects return on your M9 and use it as a power amp to see what a higher wattage WA really sounds like?
Well, I just pulled the trigger today on a Mesa Basis M2000 to replace my beloved and recently sold 400+. With three kids all under the age of 4, I can't afford to have a power tube short and blow the guts out requiring expensive repairs. I really like the versatility of my backup amp, an HA3500. I did some research and found the M2000 is like a HA3500 on some serious performance enhancing drugs. Twice the power, compression that doesn't suck the tone dry, and two independent, blendable, and switchable preamp channels, and classic Mesa tube OD. I had to have one, and there was one available on evilbay. I am not an ebay "pro" and of course got bumped out at the last second, but the guy won it for $675 + $35 for shipping for a head that usually goes for $600 shipped around these parts on the rare occassion one comes out of hiding. Despondant, I almost bought the broken unit on ebay with the intent of sending it right off to Mesa for repair. One last ditch search in the www came up with one at a GC in South Carolina for $550 and another in NY for $850?!! Overpriced much, ahh much too much. Called the Carolina GC this morning, verified it worked and had the footswitch and found out it's in a nice SKB like case. GC employee was kinda bummed, said he had been hoping that nobody would see it and buy it because he wanted to get it once he had the cash, he even went so far as to put the covers on the case to "stash" it so it hasn't been abused by every snot nosed kid that walks in the place. Now I must exercise patience and restraint while waiting for it to arrive. My NAD is coming soon.

Yeah, to me it becomes something else entirely. That's why Mesa says they have the MP600, supposed to be the bigger version, same components (preamp stages look the same to me). But to me doubling or trippling the wattage changes the characteristics. The charm of a 300w amp is from pushing those ponies to full use.

I've had both the MP600 and Walkabout; at the same time even.
The 600 is no Walkabout, to my ears, despite anyone's claims that it is.

I can't imagine mesa putting out a new head that isn't awesome. Just look at their track record... D180, Buster, 400(+), Basis M2000, MP 600, Walkabout, BB750, Titan, and M6/9... all fantastic amps in their own right.
Couldn't agree more. The only issue I have is how much they cost new and their stuff is always exempt from store sales. No discounts from authorized retailers. The best my local retailer can do is knock off some of the sales tax, but that's money directly out of his pocket. I hear stories about gear going on clearance but I have never actually witnessed this rare event, if indeed it has actually happened. Even damaged/broken Mesa gear sells at a premium, but then the good stuff always does.
And finally, got to play it for the first time tonight. All I can say is massive.
I'll probably repaint the grill black though. Not too keen on the silver.
IMO, Rustoleum Black Textured paint would be a very realistic looking simulation of the black powercoat they have on the black grills... It's a very durable paint, that also touches up nicely, if need be - and goes on easily...
Great rig, btw - congrats, I'm just seeing this tonight... Still loving my M-p 600/ PH810 rig...

I've scared two guitarists - both playing Triple Rec halfstacks - into submission with a threat of mutually assured destruction - hahaha!!!
But seriously - my band is really loud, and since I've gotten the PH810, my M-pulse 600 Pre Gain stays at 1 o'clock, and my Master Volume never goes past 10 o'clock... I highly doubt I'll ever need to use both cabs for ANY gig - it's really that loud...
