Actually, I believe only the 12" speakers are neo. My 1x12's are definitely not light for a 1x12, but they are under 50lbs which is basically my limit for a single "smallish" cab. I love the cabs a lot, and if I could get the sound in a 10-15lb lighter package I would be willing to spend the cash.

I actually think the new Berg HT112ER's sound somewhat similar, but I hate the one handle on top thing, it makes the Bergs more akward to carry and makes the Mesa's seem lighter.

You are right! I didn't realize this. Only the 12 loaded cabs list the speakers as 'neo' on the site. I wonder what that is about? No wonder the 410 and 610 are so ungodly heavy.

Is it truly easy to lift and load or do you have to act macho and risk injury?

I can't imagine a 100 lb+ combo. Seems to defeat the major purpose of having a combo - to save weight, IMO. I think that's why SWR's Black Beauty combo failed, which was something like 120 lbs. Ridiculous. It was meant to replace the old Basic Black series combos which were 40 lbs of total awesome.

Anyway, I dig my Scout and a bigger/badder Mesa combo appeals to me in theory ... though not at 100 lbs+. Maybe I'll try loading it in/out of my car at the store and see what that's like.

That and maybe stairs are the only time you'll probably lift it. I didn't think it was that heavy honestly.

I do think that the balance with the handle and the wheels is excellent and it moves around easily. It certainly doesn't feel heavy when rolling like some things do.

I guess putting it in and out of your vehicle would be a good test to see how it works for you.

I'm kind of a mesa nut. Bought the m2000 12 years ago with a 410 deep cab and was hooked. When I got my Pedulla pentabuzz I got a walkabout scout for small clubs, outstanding sound in a small package. I thought was through with buying amps till I heard the 400+ was being discontinued. I always wanted a tube amp after calling around for a few weeks I found a shop in ct that actually called mesa to find out if they had one left, they did. I think I have the last 400+ ever made. It sounds awsome! 410 and 115 stack.

I just got a PH210 to pair up with the PH212 I reviewed, and as much as I liked the PH212, adding the PH210 takes it to a whole new level. Those two cabs can move a lot of air, collectively, and the combined tone is definitely of the 'do it all' variety (meaning, you can cover a wide range of genres with this pair).

Tom.

Interesting----Very interesting. I loved the PH212 I used to demo my M6 when I bought it, but was worried about it being "enough" in some situations.

I'm considering (off and on) trading my VPH810 for something a little more portable, and the idea of getting an 8 ohm PH212 and an 8 ohm PH210 might just be a perfect solution for what I'm looking for.

But then, I play through my 810, and am once again reminded of just how great 8 Mesa 10's powered by an M6 sounds............:smug: Suddenly the portability factor gets forgotten for awhile.:)

Count me in to this. Picked up a 400+ that had seen better days earlier this year and, now it's sorted out, sounds amazing! I particularly like the definition of lower notes on my B string. I have it playing through a Trace Elliot 4x10, might see about adding a 1x15 at some point for even more bottom end  :D

I just picked up my second m-pulse 600 after a bout of edenitis and am currently running it through a borrowed bag end s15x-d (producing lots o' fundamental). I am trying to decide what to mate the m-pulse head to. The options I'm considering are: two mesa 1x12s, some other pair of 1x12s, a mesa 2x10 on top of a mesa 1x15 or the powerhouse 2x12. Portability and space saving is an important criteria.

What do you all think? Thanks for your input (in advance).

Matt

Just an update- I finally have a pic of my cab:

Also, I have a new amp as well! It's a Big Block 750- so pretty much take that picture and replace the SVT-3 Pro with the BB 750 and you have my new rig. I need to get some pics of that rig now. It sounds killer playing through that with my Stingray 5! :bassist:

just wanted to chime in- i am completely in love with my m-2000. i've got the tube setup in there sorted out for me, and man the tone that thing puts out is heaven! anywhere from an aggressive growl to a super smoove squashed funk...it's all good. i don't understand why these amps aren't more sought-after. Other than being kind of complicated, i suppose.

yep.
