Check this out...This references the fan mod I've done on mine. So far, not a single problem. I've run it at 2-ohms for an entire set and it didn't feel any warmer than it did before with the sunon fan.
I still think the Walkabout is my favorite amp ever. I've had some heavy hitters too. Speakons, a few hundred more watts, and I think that would be the next generation of Walkabout. I'd buy it too.
The MM stuff is well crafted, and ergonomically pleasing to me, but never had enough mid presence, for me, personally.
Also take a hard look at the new GK Neo stuff... particularly impressive, IMHO.Looking for something Neo. The AE212 does sound like the best solution. Let me know what you think of it when/if you latch on to one.
