Of course - the knob just wasn't popped all the way out

I still want one.

I'm coming from a Kern/CA-9 that I sold last year promarily to downsize weight-wise. Now running either a Markbass SA450 into an Acme Low B4 or a Markbass CMD121p with a Berg HT112 as an extension. Only recently have I come to miss that tube front end, thus the acquistion of Pickles' Mpulse 600. But looks like I can get a Fathom for $999 so I'll probably get it and A/B the two and flip the other. What's the weight of the M6? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Not even any specs on the Mesa manual found on their website. I assume the Fathom = Carbine in every respect. The MPulse 600 and M6 are very, very different sounding heads; at least to me.
I did not care for the MPulse 600 at all.
Didn't need the extra band of para eq, didn't like the percieved by me lack of top end clarity, didn't need the compressor (tho it worked very nicely).
The M6 sounds heftier (flat), cleaner, has crisper top end, and meets my tone goals for dang near everything.

Why is a reasonable Q.
Two days since mine left for warranty repair.
I hope they can make it shutdown, and figger why.
I was not able to reproduce the symptoms "on command."
Just, "every few days, it would snap off for no reason, then wake right back up."
Didn't matter: what bass, active, passive 4 string, 5 string, what cab, what ohm load...just....curious.
I was never able to make Tom's Fathom misbehave under any circumstance.
Hard to diagnose, prolly.
I am willing to bet that these failures are attributable to 'purchased parts' rather that Mesa design flaws.I'm not smart enough to open it and start pushing on bad solder joints...but, they've had a few of these with issues and are probably starting to get more familiar than they want to be with failure points...
Well, Chef mine just got back to Mesa yesterday so hopefully between yours and mine one of them will shut down and they'll be able to figure it out.
Not a knock towards you at all bro... but this kind of music is not the application I would expect typical Carbine customers to be playing. To me, that music screams Big Block.![]()
I played my M6 at rehearsal this weekend with a Powerhouse 115. It's a pretty bright room -- I had to turn the treble down to get the right sound with my Mike Lull M5V. Pretty impressive tone, but a little too midrangy!I read the article in Bass Gear Magazine which along with the M6 also reviewed the Mesa 212 and gave the 212 a big thumbs up. I tried the M6 with my Bergie AE410 and it sounded pretty damn incredible! Has anyone used the M6 with any of the Mesa Powerhouse speakers?
