Yea-I did the Eden thang too.Now they were heavy.Man rockstar-wish you were a bit closer,Id love to try one.Though we do play in Houston quite a bit.I may have to drop by!!:D

Yeah, the MB800 is probably going to be even closer in some regards (headroom, for sure), though the MB Fusion has more harmonic content. For me, it's a toss up between the MB500 and MB Fusion, as it stands, and once the MB800 hits, that's probably going to be my favorite micro head (for a while, at least).

Cool,thanks Tom.This just never ends does it??Lol

Im guessing for me the MB Fusion would be fine for what I want to use it for.For anything larger Id use the M9 anyway.But the MB800 looks promising for sure.

As fast as things are changing its hard to jump in and buy something,knowing something cooler is just around the corner.....

I have the rig at our rehearsal space on the SW side, so if you're in town and I don't have a gig you definitely can come by and rock it and actually get it up to gig volumes! :bassist:

Thanks, good advice. However, after total failure a few months back, my M9 was brought up to current spec, with a new power transformer, 2 fans, new heatsink, and slotted lid, etc.

IIRC, I posted the details in this thread quite a while back, so if I were not so lazy, I would search and let you know. :D

Mesa sent a detailed repair/mod list. They even fixed some cosmetic damage caused by my poor packing job.

In other words, the head is quite up-to-date, and it has worked well since service until now. I have used it heavily since it was at Mesa. Like Chef, I drive a 4 ohm Epifani UL1 410, and sometimes add an 8 ohm UL1 210 for a 610 rig.

Wow, love the M9, but have to admit it is now sick. A Shuttle 6.0 is filling in, and my CA-6 is now my backup. Now it looks like probably 3 weeks before I get my pet suitcase nuke back.

As Tom B noted, the GK MB Fusion is pretty-fairly-kinda close.
Maybe you have the inclination to use this as an excuse to mess with your micro-lineup....

Ooooohhhh!That is a bummer-I do recall that now.I really hope it gets taken care of.I mentioned this to lomo but.....I dealt with Richard Duvall at Mesa.He was just awesome and took care of my issue and got my amp back in great time.Might be worth a call.

Got my pet back in exactly one week! Fixed. Cost $95. I opted for "out of warranty service" for faster turn around. Probably saved money by avoiding shipping.

Turns out the 12AX7 was microphonic, as were the two replacement tubes I swapped in! Gotta post a sign in my studio to test troubled amps when they are NOT on or near a speaker cabinet. :D

Ready for Strokers in Dallas on Thursday.

I think one spare was "previously deprecated," but the other was pretty new and unused. In their little cardboard cartons, they both have been dragged around in my spares bag quite a bit. That much random shock can't be good for a tube. :p

I still wonder why the one in the unit went bad. Then again, it was in the head when it was shipped from Denton, TX to Mesa in Petaluma, CA and back during the thermal failure/retrofit adventure. :cool:

Does anybody know if there is a schematic of the head floating around in the Internet?

I have a couple ideas floating around my head for modifications (MIDI Voice switching, input jack in rear, etc...).

Nope, and I wouldn't expect to find any, either, unless there was a nasty information leak at Mesa or an authorized service location, which would be bad. That's Intellectual Property and should be kept confidential, limited access to factory people and any authorized service locations ONLY.
