I've called a few stores in the phoenix metropolitan area who have no idea.
I am absolutely convinced you will try an SW210 within 2yrs and it totally mess with your head. Then you will buy another. Then, you will spend the next couple of years trying different combinations determining the best set. Then 4-6 years from now, your 2 least favorite will sit idle in the corner of your room. But, you won't sell them bc they are Mesa and they're beautiful.

This thread's got me pumped up. I bought a pair of used Subway cabs, a 115 and a 210, that should be here next week.
I've run a Peavey MiniMax V1 (500 watts) using an Ampeg SCR-DI as a preamp through a pair of 200 watt Peavey Headliner 112's for the last few years. It's been good, but I recently switched to running a Tech 21 VT-DI into a Crown XLS 2002 in Y configuration (375 watts per channel at 8ohms). It sounds great now, but I'm really looking forward to hearing it through the new cabinets. The new cabs are similar in size and weight, but have greater power handling. I really don't know what to expect, but I'm excited. I've only heard the Subway cabs through online demos.

No matter how high you set the bar for those cabs, they will exceed your expectations.
As long as the cabs are in good condition and working as designed, you will absolutely be floored. Play around with them both individually and as a pair so you can get a feel for each cab on its own. I almost typed "each cab's strengths and weaknesses" there, but honestly there's not much of a weakness with either cab. They both just do a slightly different thing individually, but work SO WELL together also!
The 115/210 pairing is my favorite speaker config of all time. Throw tradition out the window and listen/experiment with fresh ears and an open mind. Start with your amp EQ flat and just play that for a minute or two, then start tweaking to taste. PLEASE don't just pre-apply some EQ curve you're used to using with other gear.
Next, I'd recommend playing around with the stacking. Try the 115 on the bottom for a bit, then the 115 on top of the 210 for a bit. See if you notice any difference! Again, throw conventional cab/speaker wisdom out the window and start from scratch.
I got to play outdoors with my stack a couple weeks ago and it was absolutely glorious. These cabs sound great at low volumes, and just get better with more power!
Excited for you! Mesa Subway gear is top notch... and then some. I currently have Subway 115 and 112 cabs and they sound FANTASTIC! On December 25th, a Subway 210 will be joining the gang! Can't wait to hear that! Let us know what you think about those new cabs. Congratulations!
I just ordered from Sweetwater or Creamcitymusic for mine. No shops in PHX sell this stuff except Guitar Center and I'd rather not give the Walmart of music stores my business. Got my 115 and 210 last summer ablut a month apart from one another.
I'm over here fighting the itch to get another 210 and stack those. Haven't seen or even heard of anyone talking about this. Curious how a diagonal oriented 10" stack would sound compared to a tradition 410 cab.
I ended up ordering my 210/115 from Guitar Sanctuary in Texas. I use GC when I have stuff to trade in but that's about it.
No, GC is the online version of Walmart. Sweetwater would be more like an Amazon, however with an actual brick and Mordor you can walk into. Big difference
I'd rather give "Amazon" my money over "Walmart". At least I have an actual sales person that communicated and cares about their customer base with Sweetwater. It's like shopping at Home Depot or going to an actually electrical wholesale warehouse in the electrical industry if I were to compare. You want professionals to deal with or you want a bunch of clueless high school kids helping you?? My opinion
I was pretty happy stacking my Subway 115 with a matching 112 but have since parted ways with the 115 in lieu of running a dual Ultralite 112 stack. Very happy with this setup!
After 3 pages, you should have an idea of what you are after. I don't know why I'm compelled to chime in, but I went with a pair of Subway 115s and I couldn't be happier. I use the pair literally strapped together as a quasi-215 cab. Gets ferociously loud on large stages and retains its solid lows, balanced mids and bright, clear highs (I love bright basses and like to hear/feel it that way). Admittedly, I usually use in-ear monitors, but the bands I play with are mixed wedges and in-ears, so I have to set a good strong amp tone for everyone else. They've loved that WD800/2 115 rig from day 1.
And in smaller, lower-volume settings, the amp retains its great tone characteristics. And in really small settings, I can use only one cab for, you guessed it, my sound, whatever that is in the Big Picture. It's so perfect for small combo and jazz standards work.
So based on what I'm reading through the many dozens, maybe hundreds of the SW mixed-cabs posts, it's great that the options are there for those that desire them. But I simply cannot imagine any combination of mixed cabs giving me anything I don't already have and love with the pair of SW115s. And I gotta say, these simply are the best-sounding 15'-based cabs I've ever heard.
So one more opinion the OP can toss on the pile…

I sure hope they're in good condition and working properly. The seller had good feedback and he listed one as 'excellent', and the other as 'very good' due to light scratching on the plastic corners. I'll know Monday when they get here.
Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely experiment with my preamp settings. I'm sure the voicing will be quite different from the 12's in the Peavey's.
