Metal Head Dating Site

While I get how they may seem that way (and it certainly applies to some people on said sites), there are TONS of "normal" people on these apps. It's just another way of meeting people, and people that are (hopefully/more likely) on the same page as you.
In the past, I've dated women I've met at bars (I'm kinda over that scene now), coworkers (bad idea, definitely not into that anymore), friends (well, ex-friends now, however amicable the breakup), and now my current girlfriend is from the internet. I must have terrible social skills and was at my rock bottom, huh? Nope! I just realized that the stigma against meeting people on the internet is ridiculous and unwarranted, and there are thousands of potential matches out there that I would otherwise never have the chance to meet. My current girlfriend and I would have never crossed paths if not for the internet, and even if we had, we probably wouldn't have approached each other "in the wild." Not that I have bad social skills, but I wouldn't expect her to be "my type" at a glance (aka, out of my league).
Sorry for the rant - I'm definitely not offended by the notion that online dating is seen as for "losers," just pointing out that it's a false idea
I get what you're saying and I never said online dating is for "losers". I met my current gf on Facebook, had met another on Myspace and meet plenty of people online. I was referring specifically to actual dating websites simply because in my experience the people that frequent those are actively looking for any opportunity to date someone (anyone). IMO that is the wrong approach and sends out a red flag. It's the same if a person goes out to a bar actively looking to hook up with someone. Instantly your standards lower because you want to succeed and finding someone, rather than just going out for fun and happening to meet a person that can actually beneficially add to your life. In January of 2008 I had a stroke, my wife of thirteen and a half years didn't see the need to come to the hospital. I found myself single not too long after. I went through a period where I was a bit bitter, but it didn't last long.
After a while I wanted companionship and ended up joining a dating site. I was a busy business man and it seemed like an efficient means to meet women. It was. At this point I was 49 years old. I filled out a profile and chose a photo, the photo was me behind my drums. A secondary photo was of me with my dog. I am not a particularly attractive guy, I'm average. Weirdly enough, my photos got lots of notes from women in their forties and fifties. I ended up dating a lot, and having a blast. Every single woman said that the photo of me behind my drums was what got their attention. I didn't seem boring.
I met my current wife on that site and we are happily married. But, dating sites do work and however weird it may be, grown women are still drawn to musicians.

I am a grown woman and still attracted to musicians which has been both a blessing and a curse
Recently I have tried dating sites and met nice men but didn’t meet anyone with a true love for metal, at least not the way I love it. And it’s true going to shows is a great way to meet people for potential dating but as life goes going out to shows is not always possible. But I have an own heart and therefore hope

Welcome to TB! Your baby is beautiful. Thanks for giving an alternative perspective. It's easy for guys to just get ragging on each other.
For those of you metalheads wondering, the girl in the pic in that ad is NOT sitting around waiting for you to message her.
They can come and hang out at my place, at least until I change the locks.I like the irresponsible and broke part. That's kinda hot!
Remember when Ashley Madison was hacked not only did it expose cheaters it also uncovered that about 99.9% of the women on there were completely fake or bots. Most of these sites are just money makers to prey on lonely people!
