Mini Rigs of Doom Four

Very satisfied with this rig.

I don't know why but the RevSound 2 x 8" always photographs larger than it actually is. I thought it was a 2 x 10" as well :)

I don't know the G-K Fusion stuff very well, what's the deal with two gain knobs and two master knobs, I only see one input jack so it's not like a two channel amp?

Love the green tolex BTW, Veddy British :)

Might just be the Fusion is smaller than it looks ha. The GK is great, I'm not sure why they don't get more love.

There is an A/B switch to the left of the master volumes.

And yep, love me some British Racing Green!

That GK amp has a "clean" and a "drive" channel, with a gain and master for each. The switch on the right, beside Master-A swaps between them. There's also a footswitch available to switch channels.

(I have an MB non-fusion without the tube pre)

Strangely enough when I looked at that post of the RevSound RS28V and the GK amp on my phone, I could see the switch on the right side for changing channels.

I could see the switch there when I looked at it on a laptop monitor but could not make it the A/B button part.

I looked up that amp and it's a tad pricey but looks to be excellent, four toobs in there I believe, in that tiny head (obviously preamp toobs).

It would be interesting to A/B this model with the Mesa's that use a tube in the preamp, I realize they both probably sound excellent and have their own mojo going on but it would be interesting to A/B them in a store but the closest store to me that even carries Mesa gear is a 140 mile round trip.

Guitar Center is closer and used to carry a lot of G-K but these days it seems all they have in their stores is the cheaper Ampeg and Fender stuff, some Markbass.

p.s. Not really in the market, my little Acoustic B300HD meets my tiny class D head needs at the moment but I'd like to have some idea of future options should I decide to go deeper into the Class D pool. The Acoustic ran me $208 with tax so it was more like dipping a toe in the class D pool, pricewise.

Well, they can both be dirty or both be clean since there's a gain for each. I've just been using them as active and passive channels, since the active -14db switch takes a bit too much off, imo.

Just be aware that GK has discontinued the MB & MB Fusion models (except for the MB200). I have the MB500 and love it. You might be able to find deals on used or demos. Good luck.

I just picked up a Warwick Gnome to use in place of my Tonehammer 500 (small gigs). I'm hoping to get two 1x12 cabs built soon. No hits on my Eden D410XLT. The proceeds from selling that will cover new neo drivers.

New mini rig configuration. Scored a really good deal on a GK MB 200. It’s been on my list for a while and I couldn’t resist. This thing is way louder than I could’ve hoped. I love how minimal and simplistic the controls are. Idiot proof raw power in a 2 lbs box. Crazy. Running this into a Schroeder 210PL makes for quite the monster mini rig.
