Mini Rigs of Doom Four

GK MB Fusion 800 into a 4ohm Schroeder 1210L. (Driven by my '00 hot rod P-bass, '98 Warwick Fortress, or '02 fretless Stingray. Sold the charcoal frost p-bass pictured). This rig KILLS! Replaced my monster SWR 4X10/1X15 stack; SM-400, Goliath III, and Son of Bertha. This mini rig has better tone AND more volume. Amp and cabinet comes in at about 40 pound total.

I'm currently trying out the Mesa D-800 as well, and look to possibly try the Aguilar TH500 after that. I'm new to D-class amps and want to get the one that's perfect for me (and my cab).View attachment 832330

I'd also try a Genzler MG-800..... just got one and couldn't be more pleased with the sound, power, and capability.

In what way is that a mini rig of doom? Perhaps I missed the description of what constitutes a MROD.

The cab's are 2x8 and 1x12. A great small club rig that easily fits in the back seat of my Passat along with 2 basses.

The original tiny Fender Rumble 350 head started cutting out on me when it got hot, hence the 800RB being pulled out of retirement.

A MROD is any rig that is small enough to be carried in one trip(Head, Cab(s), and Bass) without the use of a dolly or other assistance. It should also be able to get pretty loud. As always that is usually misinterpreted, lol.
Yes, this needs to be clarified every now and then as I see some rigs posted that cannot be carried in fully by hand in one trip!

My favorite mini rig- Markbass Alain Caron signature combo (I disconnected the tweeter) and orange micro terror with a 10" fender cab. I split them with a Pigtronix Disnortion, clean out to bass amp, dirty to guitar amp.

Surprised you would buy an Alain Caron amp and disconnect the tweeter since one of the cool features is that the tweeter has it's own 300 watt amp separate from the 500 watt power amp driving the woofer. As with all MB amps I wish it had an attenuator, but the horn in the AC sig isn't anywhere near as hissy as the piezos used in their other amps and it's easy to dial out the hiss with the VLE filter.

Do you know if the woofer is getting a full range signal? There might be an electronic crossover in front of the power amps since the drivers have separate amps.

Mine has a 100w amp for the tweeter (500 for the woofer) and I still prefer it without. I bought it because it sounded better to my ears than the CMD, probably because of the deeper cabinet. Anyway, I believe that it has a cross over and I'm loosing some "glass" on top but I get it back in a more pleasing way from the guitar rig.

But a MROD should not stand five feet tall.
Why not?
Here again are the (settled upon along time ago) requirements:

As you can see, no height restriction is mentioned.
Not trying to pick on ya or start an argument, just hoping to clarify.

Didn't know it was made with 100W for the tweeter. Not sure what mine is, but it does seem like 100 should be plenty for any tweeter.

They also make a similar non-signature model but the accessory input and headphone jack on the AC model are very handy at home.
