It is small - maybe not mini, but small. But it does have bottom end.

Is that like the ummmm 900 pound gorilla in the room?![]()
Yeah, I know, right? I love that everyone is keeping it fun and showing their smallish rigs on here. Once upon I time I remember seeing someone say that you must be able to carry the whole shooting match into the venue in one trip to truly be a MROD. However, the way I see it, if your rig is shorter than your bass sitting in a standard guitar floor stand, and less than 2x as wide, it qualifies.![]()
It's definitely fun seeing all the solutions that people can come up with to make life easier.
Hear here! I'm working on a solution myself. I would like a couple 10" cabs, or maybe at the very largest, 12" cabs. There are some very cool home-builts on this thread. People are creative!![]()
I really love a pair of these with my Ampeg PF 20 T:

Only thing is, they are 4 ohm. So I'm thinking of building them with an 8 ohm speaker each.
Version 3: Less Mini, More Doom.

This is gorgeous. How do you like the cabs? I see one 112 and one 115. I probably would have gone 2 x 12's. Does this live up to your expectatoins?
Yes. The 112 and 115 compliment each other really well to the point where something always seems missing when I just use one of them. The 15 fills the room while the 12 brings in a lot of detail. Combined with the Mesa D800 I've done coffee shops up to medium sized bars with no issues. Anything bigger and I'm DI'd, at which point it's a pretty sweet personal monitor.
Thus far they seem to compliment the Strategy.... there's a lot of consistency in tone between the Strategy and the D800 so I don't think it'll be an issue.
Mini?
Not by the true definition I saw on here. If those are 15s, that stack weighs close to 100 lbs.
I thought - small in foot print and large in sound! That is my definition of Mini Rig of Doom.

Perhaps try something like this? Invalid Link RemovedI really love a pair of these with my Ampeg PF 20 T:

They are 12s. I would say that the Walkabout Scout dimensions of 20 1/4" H x 16 1/2" W x 15" D (40 1/2" H stacked) is pretty "small in footprint". Running @ 2ohms is aprox 500 watts and "large in sound". And at 51lbs for the combo and 38lbs for the extension cab that's 89lbs total. Also, I can walk into any club with one in each hand.
Translation?
