Mini Rigs of Doom-Let's see 'em!l

If it makes you feel any better...adding a 1x15 or a 2x12 to the rig you already have will equip you for just about any gig you'd ever do...

my system is very modular, and depending how much doom I need and how much space I have I use different combination.
Lets start off with MINI and doom, here from our gig at MarsCon 2007 (Minneapolis, MN). Its and iAMP800 and a CXL 112
Next is the Mini rig of Doom, that I usually play, here in a bar in Rochester, NY. Well, its not really mini, but smaller than many amps.

my system is very modular, and depending how much doom I need and how much space I have I use different combination.

Oh, and if I'm local I set up the mini rig of DOOOOOOOOM.
(not that anyone would need that. In fact, I was off the PA for most of the night. )
What I really like about this system is that I can bring the same amp and the same speakers and combine them in different ways. This system here is 2xCXL112 and one NL-210 with 2.6 Ohm, about 900 W out of the iAMP.

Nice! Have you tried running the NL-210 with a single CXL112? If so how were the results? I've got an NL-210 right now and I can't decide between another NL-210 or a CXL-112..
Yes, that's my normal rig, see the post on the previous page.
The CXL112 is not as round and balanced soundinn but cuts better though the mix.

I got those pants from my mother-in-law and I'm wearing them all the time with Ookla the Mok - when you search "ookla" on www.Flickr.com you can see them all the time.
The best comment I got on these are were from a local Punk band that we opened up for, where the female singer said: "Are those pants cool or what? I'm sure he gets laid A LOT!"
Another comment was: "Can you turn around and show us the dark side?"

I didn't realize the s12d and s15d where in the same cab size.
How does that stack sound? Looks very warm and pillowy with no tweeters around.

I'll be gigging with it next Friday so we'll see how it performs. Either way, I get some deep syrupy thick bootylicious tone from this puppy. Even more so than from my old crummy-butt Hartke VX115 cab. Oh, yes, I can get the classic GK tone dealie as well.

Brand is Hevos. The head is a 400D. Size is 1u rackmount, it has a tube pre, mute-out for silent tuning, switchable active/passive inputs, 5 band EQ and class D solid state power stage. Output power is 400 watts into 4 ohm, 550 into 2. It does not have a switch mode power supply like many other class D amps, but a rather oversized toroid transformer. The rig is very portable, but the head is a good bit heavier than your average 1u effects unit. It goes loud, the sound is clean, and extremely quiet. The cabs have excellent tweeters, so good that they occasionally get to double as light PA cabs as well (in addition to my bass, they also do female singer and e-piano). The tweeter gave some hiss on my good old Trace Elliot AH200 head. No hiss whatsoever with the Hevos head. Gotta like the clean tone, but if you do this is excellent gear, using nothing but good quality parts and well constructed.

Yup, warm and smooth. The Elrick has quite a bit of bite, so the lack of tweeters really helps smooth it out when I dig in. The S12-D isn't a slouch in the high register, though - when I first tried it out I thought there was a tweeter somewhere that I didn't notice!
I used this setup in its entirety for the first time last night, in a big club with no PA support. Plenty loud with loads of headroom, and it sounded like a dream!
