I was living in BC during 1992 and in the US on vacation during 1993. Missed both.
Game 1 last week was my first baseball playoff game. The game today is going to be great. Seats are kinda crappy, but who cares?

Game 1 last week was my first baseball playoff game. The game today is going to be great. Seats are kinda crappy, but who cares?
There is nothing like the electric vibe in and around the ballpark during the postseason - I'm jealous but happy for you. The Jays have a great team and I'd like to see them in the ALCS.
Should be fun. Not a lot of people in Toronto will be working this afternoon!
Any seat in a stadium during the playoffs is not a crappy seat. Enjoy the game!

#*&$)*! I just HAD to go to the store for beer and missed the top half of the inning. The bottom half, however... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL:O!!!! Un freaking real.

Worth it. Have beer! Also i'm going to download the game as soon as I find a rip so I can see the entire inning.

What a crazy game last night--but a rockin' series between the Jays and Rangers. The Rangers confirmed the old adage that three errors in a row is a bad idea. And that Russell Martin throw was about the strangest thing I've seen in some time. And now it's Kansas City: and there is zero love lost between these two teams, especially after the beanball festivities during the season. Go Cubbbies!

The only thing that made the wait for a rental car tolerable last night was they had a TV with ESPN running. That was crazy, but weird stuff happens in October baseball games - as a Red Sox fan I have been on both sides of the crazy. I watched Bautista's bat flip a dozen times and couldn't turn away. Same with Martin's throw off Choo's bat. Martin owes Bautista a steak dinner or two - it ends up being the best kind of sports blooper - one that doesn't lose the game - sort of like Garo Yepremian's attempt to pass on the blocked field goal in Super Bowl VII - Dolphins ended up winning anyway.
Jays and Royals were the best two teams this year so it should be a good ALCS - either would be a worthy opponent for whatever the NL throws up.

That should be grand! Not to take this thread away from baseball, but I've always loved Rick Ford's playing on Big World, which is one of my favourite Joe Jackson album and a rare one without Maby. I didn't know a thing about Rick Ford until I looked him up now and discover that he's a big time music editor for films including Argo, Nebraska, and Zero Dark Thirty. He was one of the first guys to make me really think about owning a 5-string bass.
AND...a really nice guy! I got to meet him down in the bowels of the Center Stage in Atlanta this evening! Gracious...patient (as I stumbled all over myself telling him stories about my admiration for him, and his playing...jaysus-on-a-bicycle, I think I even used the phrase 'soundtrack of our lives'!
), and obviously in a good mood after ANOTHER great performance. Pics to follow! (but not on this thread. I'm sure I've already done enough damage here...sorry...)Go Cubs!
