MLB 2018

Remember when the Mets were playing well?
Yes. I lived in NYC in 1985.

And the Mariners are up 4-nil in Houston. It's only the first inning, but I'll take it. And the Washington Husky softball team is up 3-nil over FSU in the softball World Series. Also only the first inning, but I'll take that, too. The gods of ball are smiling on this town for a brief, shining moment.

The Cubs have won 10 of 13 and are, at the moment, tied for first. (Brewers play Phillies later.) They're rolling because the bats have picked up, the bullpen has been stellar, and Lester is pitching like an ace. Also, Mike Montgomery has been excellent as a spot starter since Darvish went on the DL a couple weeks ago.

I think the outlook for Darvish isn't as bleak as has been portrayed. He's allowed one run or fewer in 3 of his last 4 starts, though he's averaged just over 5 innings apiece in those starts. He just needs to get healthy and keep it together mentally.
