I don't know - I really haven't seen much of their games. It doesn't look good. But Bryant and Baez probably their two best players), and a lot of pitching, are out for the season, and the person they brought in to be their closer has been pouring so much gas on the flames, he should be working for Exxon. Their slump started while they still had a good chance to make the post season.
What your team is doing is exceptional.
I'm not going to be able to get out there. I will get there at some point, though.
Maddon is putting a B team out there this weekend and took a shot at Brewer fans because they will complain. Darvish and Hendricks are being shut down. I guarantee that if they were in the Brewers position, Maddon would be the first to complain.
As far as my complaints as a Brewer fan, I have none. The Brewers did not play well for most of the season. They had a phenomenal September and they made the playoffs. They have a shot at the division. If they miss that because the Cardinals sweep the Cubs, that's just the way it goes. As a baseball fan, I want to see all 30 teams field their best 9.

That's a different issue. I was talking more about players not hustling and trying to win.
From what I read, they aren't playing Baez and Bryant, who are injured, and Rizzo, whose ankle looks more like a plum than a body part. He is also shutting down some pitchers with injury issues. I don't know whether he is trying to protect his players or what. Is there any reason why he would want the Cardinals in the playoffs over the Brewers?

Or the Mariners. Except substitute first two weeks for all star break.
Baez, Bryant, and Rizzo need to sit out this weekend. I would never expect them to play hurt in a meaningless (for them) game. However, shutting down Darvish and Hendricks for "workload" issues that weren't an issue last week seems suspect. Especially when Maddon comes out and says, "Of course they are going to b-----. I don't give a s---."
I'm not complaining as a Brewer fan. It's going to take a miracle to overtake the Cardinals. The Cubs couldn't win a single game at Wrigley when they had something to play for. The Cardinals are almost as hot as the Brewers right now. The Brewers would need to finish the season with 10 straight wins. If we don't win the division, there is so much more to look at before even thinking about the Cubs-Cardinals series this weekend.
I do see what you're saying, and I do love seeing the players hustle even when their team has been out of the race. I don't think any of the players have thrown in the towel.

Again, anybody have a reason why? As far as I know, the Cubs are as much rivals with the Cards as with the Brewers.
I'm not so sure it is a rivalry thing. Just that he's thrown in the towel now that they've been eliminated.

But what does he have to gain by this? The worse the team does, the worse a position he is in for next year, whether with the Cubs or another team.
Disagree. In addition to Baez, Bryant, and Rizzo being hurt, Darvish has had an ongoing forearm issue that caused him to miss a start pretty recently. Not sure what the issue is with Hendricks right now, but they've always been pretty protective of him.
Oh, let me be clear. The Cubs have a rivalry with the Brewers, but Cards/Cubs is pure, longstanding hate. Just look up Kris Bryant's joking about St. Louis being "boring" and Molina's vitriolic response for a recent example. There is no WAY the Cubs want the Cards to win the division over anyone.

News flash: we were going to The Who on Sunday night, but that is postponed while Daltrey's vocal cords recover. Both Dallas and Denver concerts are postponed....
So we get to go to the Rockies' last game of the year on Sunday. Believe it or not, the forecast is for 86 degrees in Denver, but fortunately we'll be in the shade. One more day for that timeless exchange from Field of Dreams:

Yep. And I think that most players are classy and respectful of the game. That’s the main reason I’m still a devoted fan. The Kids Are All Right!
My wife is also a baseball fan, mainly Dodgers, so I printed this for her today. She did not fully understand how the wild card played in to post season so I gave her this visual diagram as it is sooooo much easier than trying to explain the whole chain to her.
