I would like nothing better than to see the Astros take all four games from the O's this weekend :smug: That team has been a nice story this season, but fun and games are over and we should now completely remove the O's from the WC race, please and thank you!

^^ ah well i have no say in the matter personally, but i agree with you :cool: astros magic # for top seed in the a.l. is 5. verlander and valdez are scheduled this series so they should at least split. valdez just set the single-season record for 3 runs or less in 6 innings in consecuitive starts ... next start could tie bob gibson!

i think a guardians/jays playoff series would be kinda cool to watch myself

The M's are the walking wounded at the moment. Julio has back issues, Geno has a broken finger, Raleigh has some injury that I don't remember now. They are held together with bailing wire and duct tape. If they heal, this will be fun. If they keep getting bit by the injury bug, it could be an epic collapse.

McNeil is the Mets most consistent bat, and totally jammed his knee dodging an outfield collision. Limped noticeably the rest of the game. Hope the day off helped! You can't hate this team like the Mets of old. They are doing it right. Did I mention LFGM?

Yeah, I saw that while scoreboard watching yesterday. That is a truly ugly loss. The M's are playing .500 baseball so far in September. Kind of limping into the Wild Card Series. I doubt they'll fall out of a WC spot, but they need to be better than this to have a hope of advancing beyond the WC Series. If they stay put in the 6th spot and keep playing like this, matching up against Cleveland who are super hot here in Sept., that series could be over pretty fast.

AL WC teams remaining schedules:

Toronto
- 3 games vs. NYY
- 3 games vs. BOS
- 3 games @ BAL

Tampa
- 3 games @ CLE
- 3 games @ HOU
- 3 games @ BOS

Seattle
- 3 games vs. TEX
- 3 games vs. OAK
- 4 games vs. DET

That is a soft finish to the season for Seattle. 10 games at home against three terrible teams. This is the perfect time for them to get going right again.

Tampa is on the road, and six games in Cleveland and Houston is tough! Both teams are on fire in September. I hope they do the Jays a solid and beat up on the Rays every night :p

With a little luck, if the Jays can win some games this week at home against NYY and BOS, and the Rays drop some games at the same time, then they might be able to clinch the top WC spot before heading off to Baltimore for the final series of the season. I am hoping that series becomes meaningless so the Jays can rest guys a bit and set their ideal rotation for the WC Series. Who knows if it actually works out that way, but that's what I'm hoping for.

The bullpen has been a strength all season. Now is not the time for them to fall clear apart. They haven't been the same since that absurd double header in Cleveland in the rain. Not just the bullpen, the whole team.

I hope being home for the last couple weeks of the season lets them rest and recover. Plus Julio is on the DL at the moment, too. Lots is going wrong all of a sudden and not much is going right. I sure hope it's just one of those weird baseball things.

I didn't enjoy watching the Yankees celebrate their division win at the Dome last night :-/ At least we've avoided the Judge thing for another day...

The Rays won last night but the Jays are still 3 games up on them in the WC seeding. The M's managed to lose to the Rangers (!) but lucky for Seattle because Boston beat Baltimore. The AL Central teams are not going to factor into the WC race anymore, so it's only Baltimore that could maybe catch Seattle. I still don't see it happening, but... I am very quickly losing faith in Seattle :laugh: Win a couple games already!

The Mariners will back into the playoffs at best at the rate they are going. About half the productive guys in the field are out at the moment. Geno comes back soon, I don't know about Julio. OK, time for some baseball superstition - they are getting their playoff losses out of the way now against bad teams and saving up the wins to beat the Astros in the first round and whoever comes next and next and next, all the way to a World Series ring. Yeah, that's it. Just saving up wins.
