All of that Mets small ball magic is gone. McNeil, second in the batting title race, just hit the woosiest pop up with the bases loaded, swinging at the first pitch, after 3 walks loaded the bases. Three walks. FIRST. PITCH.
What the hell happened to these guys? That is the polar opposite of everything they've done all season. All that discipline shown at the plate in front of him, and he flails at a first pitch. Oh, and the pitcher? The one who balked 3 times in one at bat last night. First. Pitch.

Escobar came through and tied it after, but he is the only one doing diddly with runners on.

To put this in perspective, Mets win 5-4 in ten, all 5 RBIs were Escobars.

Ugh, Jays lose again. They were down 3-0 early, tied it up at 3-3. The bullpen couldn't keep them in it. Judge got his 61st HR. I wonder if he can hit 12 more to tie the record? :laugh:

Fortunately, the Rays lost last night too. The M's won. If they keep winning they could maybe catch Tampa for the 2nd WC seed.

AL postseason teams records in the last 10 games:
- Houston: 7-3
- NYY: 9-1
- Cleveland: 8-2
- Toronto: 4-6
- Tampa: 4-6
- Seattle: 4-6

Division winners are rolling into October while the WC teams are all faltering a little bit.

For sure, he is as good in the field as at the plate. Pretty sick of Mets getting hit by pitches. The one that injured him only hit his hand because he got his head out of the way. They are NOT crowding the plate, they just set the record, and it's ridiculous. This fad of velocity > control is going to end a career.

The M's moved a half-game ahead of Tampa in the WC seeding last night. And they have an extra game left to play compared to Toronto and Tampa. And their last seven games are against Oakland and Detroit. String some wins together here and maybe Seattle is not the team travelling to Cleveland for the WC Series.

Only thing is that traveling to Cleveland might be the best option. I want to see the Mariners take on New York. They have a history of playing the Yankees in the playoffs and doing well. They also have a recent history of beating the Yankees in New York and have a lousy record against the Astros in Houston.

Today could be magical in Seattle.

Sadly, I think the Brewers window has slammed shut. It may be time to trade Burnes and Woodruff and restock the minor leagues. I wish they would fire the guy who has decided that the best way to win is to swing as hard as you can no matter the count or the situation. It leads to days like today where you lose in extra innings because you strand 7 in the extra frames. Bases loaded in the bottom of the 12th with one out and you can't put the ball in play? Ridiculous. They still have a chance, but they need to sweep the DBacks and the Phillies need to get swept.
