MLB 2022

I'm getting jack squat done at work this afternoon. Three outs to go. Mariners have used two pitchers. Jays have used six. That's good for tomorrow and the next day, if the next day is necessary.

And Munoz is throwing absolute smoke. And there it is. Tomorrow afternoon is Saturday, so I won't be cheating the company.

There won't be a game on Sunday at this rate. Terrible showing by the Jays today.
It's baseball. Tomorrow is another day and another story.

Ray will be pitching for the Mariners. That's going to be an irrelevant sideshow story. Ray vs. Gausman. Neither one has been stellar for a week or two. Ray strikes a whole lot of people out, but so does Gausman. The Mariners also manage to walk a bit. Ray doesn't walk people much, but then neither does Gausman. If it comes to the bullpen, the Jays used a lot of pitching today, and the Mariners didn't.

Yep! One good win tomorrow and I will once again be convinced that the Jays can compete for the World Series :roflmao: But the game today was very disappointing.

I read an interesting tidbit in a Ken Rosenthal piece on The Athletic today and he listed the M's as a team 'most likely to surprise', and it really got me thinking about if I am over-rating the Jays and underestimating the M's. I definitely was not a believer in Seattle last season, but I've already changed my mind about that because they are legitimately a good team. No team is without flaws, but there are some aspects of Seattle's roster construction that I prefer to Toronto's. It will not be easy, but if (when?) Seattle eliminates Toronto, I will be cheering for the M's the rest of the way.

As for today's game: I was worried that they would try to get to Manoah early, and they did exactly that. He didn't help himself much either. Two HBP that came around to score both times. Toronto had some chances to do something but couldn't string enough hits together. They need to figure something out against Ray tomorrow.

You hope they do. I hope they don't!

It's obvious he hasn't got it. 6 runs off 3 homers in just 4 1/3, and last start deGrom looked just as bad, complaining of a serious blister issue. The Mets bats have also stranded 5 runners. Starling Marte returns and immediately hits a single and steals 2 bases. They left him on third.

As I said, great season Mets! Thanks for playing....

Edit: Make that 4 homers, and 7-0

Ooooh, they are in it now! 7-1

I have no idea which of the yapping melons it was, but he talked straight through the first knock of the game. A line drive homer for the first run of the playoffs, and he yapped straight through it, like your annoying bro in law during the superbowl. ESPN used to be the standard, now they are a complete clown show of putzes who can't stand to stop talking about anything but what is happening between the lines in front of their faces. I so wish there was a way to synch a radio feed to the tv broadcast feed.

Most cable packages are also DVR's these days (pause, rewind, etc). If you use a VPN try finding the nearest server in the market for the game you're watching and see if their internet stream works. If yes, you can easily synchronize the tv/radio signals.

We kinda do that with Blazer games at the bar. We put the game live on the ten foot screen, and then delay the game about 5-10 seconds on the tv so it functions as an instant replay.

Radio is always way ahead of tv coverage for me, and most live radio apps do not have pause/rew/ff features. a few do, but for example, the only way I can listen to Mets radio in Syracuse is through the Audacy app which has no pause function.

"Watching" baseball on the radio us better anyway. Baseball is a radio sport.

I grew up listening to Bob Uecker call the Brewer games. I used to mute the TV and listen to the radio, but now that we stream everything, I haven't been able to sync everything up. Even when I do get it started right, one or the other will buffer, then it's off again. I did make sure I listened to a bunch of games this year, because Uecker is not getting any younger.

Great googly moogly!
