MLB 2023

I know I'm a few days late. But as much as I LOVE my Cards I don't know if I would have started Wainright in game 1 vs GBR. I love Adam like I love every Cards player but he struggled some last season. He's about done. Unless he has a miracle year. Which would be great. But it worked out fine for the US team.

I was torn between wanting Waino back or him walking off the field with Yadi and Albert. He still has some games in him but I'm not sure about him being an ace. Still has that nasty curve, but his velocity is going down.

There is that injury. Then there is Dominican Republic looking like bums. Julio misplayed a line drive into a little league home run. Japan and Venezuela seem unstoppable. Mexico and Puerto Rico look close to unstoppable. The US team looks thoroughly mortal so far. Except for wiping out Canada. Baseball is not designed to make a lot of sense in a short tournament like this.

Good day for my Cards:

I followed baseball news a lot less closely this past off-season, so I am having fun this week looking at rosters around the league. It's a lot of, "He plays _there_ now!?" :roflmao: A great example: I totally didn't know that Jose Abreu signed with the Astros. It's going to be weird not thinking of him as a White Sox.
