I'm convinced most TV folks get paid by the word, not the quality and a lot of them could never do radio.
The fact that some of them get promoted to TV doesn't prove much

I loved the game. Yeah it's the second exhibition game but I'm hoping it's a view of what our offense will be like.

I never worry about team results at all during spring training, unless it is a bad team looking to find their legs. I'm more concerned about individual performances ( in light of goals - for instance, some pitchers only throw fastballs early on).

Watching the Cards-Mets game. They put up a graphic showing Caesars has the Cards winning the Central with an over/under of 89.5.
I like it. The way the NL Central should be.

I caught about half of the Cardinals/Mets game today, which is my second time watching a game with the new rules/clock. Stats: 19 runs, 25 hits, 4 pitching changes (all for the Mets!), 11 walks...

Total game time: 2:59

Seems pretty quick given all that action.

Supposedly in the first week of spring training, games are averaging almost a half hour faster.

I caught about half of the Cardinals/Mets game today, which is my second time watching a game with the new rules/clock. Stats: 19 runs, 25 hits, 4 pitching changes (all for the Mets!), 11 walks...

Total game time: 2:59

Seems pretty quick given all that action.

Even if the pitch clock doesn't speed the game up much it adds something to watch between pitches.

The World Baseball Classic thing is going to make spring training more chaotic. Lots of guys who wouldn't get playing time will now. I hope the guys who are playing in the tournament don't get injured or used up. It is due to be done on March 21. It's also a lot of games.

Although the US fans aren't getting worked over the WBC, apparently in many countries, the fans are going nuts. So I can't complain.

Dominican Republic lost their first game to Colombia. I sure didn't see that coming. Japan is unstoppable so far. That is far less of a surprise. Italy is in the quarter finals. Italian baseball seems like it is probably all kids from New York and New Jersey whose ancestry is Italian. Does anybody on that team speak Italian?

I was hoping Great Britain would bite Mexico last night, but only because Mexico beat USA pretty thoroughly to lead off the group. There's only one game left for each team in Group C. As long as USA beats Columbia, they should get through to the knock out round. Canada has to beat Mexico to get through, and Mexico has to beat Canada. I would bet on Mexico for that one, if I were a betting man. If Mexico wins the game, they are the number one finisher in the group.

I know I'm a few days late. But as much as I LOVE my Cards I don't know if I would have started Wainright in game 1 vs GBR. I love Adam like I love every Cards player but he struggled some last season. He's about done. Unless he has a miracle year. Which would be great. But it worked out fine for the US team.
