I love all of them, but my favorites are Major League and League of Their Own. Major League because it was filmed at County Stadium and has Uecker and Vuckovich in it. League of Their Own because it had the feel of the open tryouts.

EVRY baseball fan needs to be watching Major League this time of year. It ain't baseball season until my wife and I have watched it.
And BTW, there were three "Major League" movies. #2 is not very good, but #3: Major League: Back to the Minors is a lotta fun! Highly recommended! Major League: Back to the Minors | IMDb

The Jays have their home opener tonight. The (newly renovated) Dome is going to be loud and crazy. Home opener is always a bit nuts. The struggling Tigers (2-7) are coming to town. In true Toronto sports fashion, I sort of expect the Jays will underwhelm fans and lose tonight 
I hope they take at least two of three from the Tigers though.

The Brewers are 0-3 when they get shutout. Not surprising. However, they are 7-0 when they don't get shut out.
The Jays started doing what I thought they would — starting pitcher struggled and gave up an early 3-0 lead to Detroit — but then the rest of the team picked up the slack for Manoah and they ended up winning 9-3. A successful home opener! And the renovated Dome looks pretty great. I need to take in some games there this summer if I can afford it.
Apparently the Tigers are averaging 3 runs per game this year. They met their quota in the second inning last night and that was it for them

Just be patient. In the recent past ( last 30ish years) the Cards end up having a better season when they start off sucking. The 2011 World Series Championship year for instance. When they start off hot they go cold later.
I hope the Mariners do that. They usually wait until May or June to fall hopelessly out of contention. Last year, they fell hopelessly out of contention right away and then came roaring back. I hope they are channeling their inner Cardinals.
They seem to have figured something out today. The good news is that Kelenic is actually hitting very well. When Julo gets hot, they are going to be a handful for pitchers to deal with if Kelenic and Suarez remain reasonably dialed in. Hitting begets hitting, which means the rest will catch on and at least hit above the Mendoza line by some reasonable amount.

The Rays are 12-0. They have a +65 run diff already (92 runs scored vs. 27 runs allowed). When they come to Toronto this weekend, they could be 13-0. They have mostly played bad teams to start the season, but you can't fault them for that. They didn't make the schedule. And good teams should beat up on bad teams anyways. The Jays/Rays series this weekend could be interesting! I am more than a little worried that the Rays will beat up on Toronto... but I am also hoping the Jays are the team that breaks their streak.

Ah, who knows. It's baseball. Weird things happen. That's one of the reasons that baseball is my favorite sport. I never had the eye-hand coordination to play very well, but I sure love following the game.
